These were the top-searched beauty brands of 2024, officially (2024)

We'd say we have a good read on the top-searched beauty brands of 2024. Aside from getting to see what our readers are buying from our shopping pages in live time, we've also just rounded-off our , where readers crowned their most-loved products across over 100 categories. So, when online beauty comparison platform Cosmetify released it's analysis of the most sought-after beauty brands of the past year, we already had an inside scoop.

The consensus? Skincare ruled 2024 with La Roche-Posay and Cerave topping the list with over 33 million searches to their name each. L'Occitane, The Ordinary and Cetaphil also rounded out the top 10 with their skincare offering, while multi-category brands like Charlotte Tilbury, Estée Lauder and L'Oréal gave us skincare heroes (like Charlotte's Magic Cream, Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum and L'Oréal Paris' Revitalift Filler) alongside makeup holy grail's (like Charlotte's Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, Lauder's Double Wear Foundation and L'Oréal's True Match Foundation).

Also making up the top three, Sol de Janeiro brought the body care with their iconic Bum Bum Cream and fragrance mists, while Olaplex took 9th place thanks to its hair-repairing formulas.

Below were the top-searched beauty brands of 2024 (and the hero products you should know from each)…

1. La Roche-Posay (33,620,000 searches)

Ever reliable, French pharmacy brand, La Roche-Posay, took the top spot for the most searched beauty brand of 2024. Known for its gentle, effective and affordable approach to skincare, we're not surprised. The brand took home three GLAMOUR Power List awards this year after impressing our readers. Among them was the brand's beloved Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid Non-Perfumed Suncream, a barely-there SPF that looks and feels weightless on skin, but brings all the protection you need.

2. Cerave (33,430,000 searches)

Also headlining is TikTok's favourite beauty brand, Cerave. The derm-approved formulas and accessible price tag have made them a hit for many and their kind-to-skin ceramide infused cleansers are legendary. The brand's Hydrating Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin is a hero for a reason.

3. Sol de Janeiro (32,190,000 searches)

There's no denying Sol de Janeiro's appeal, retailers regularly report back that the brands products are topping their sales. Meanwhile the addictive formulas won three awards at our GLAMOUR Power List Awards in 2024. While the brand's scrubs and fragrance mists are adored, we couldn't not mention the best-selling Brazilian Bum Bum Cream which smells like hazy tropical holidays (caramel, pistachio and vanilla) and good vibes.

4. Charlotte Tilbury (25,920,000 searches)

Despite starting off as a cosmetics brand, Charlotte Tilbury's skincare has become equally exalted. Whether you're looking for a lipstick, contour wand or moisturiser, the brand has top contenders for each. It's not surprising then that Charlotte Tilbury took home four Power List Awards this year (equally tied with Color Wow, Olaplex and L'Oréal for our most-crowned winner). Among them were Charlotte's Magic Cream and the Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray to lock makeup in place and refresh it when needed.

5. The Ordinary (20,720,000 searches)

The Ordinary changed the game when it launched in 2016 and put consumers firmly in charge of their skin health with individual ingredient boosters (like Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%) to target specific problems. It remains one of the most trusted skincare destinations for affordable and accessible skin prescriptions, but one of it's most loved launches (as voted by GLAMOUR readers) is its Multi-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum, which helps encourage hair growth.

6. L'Occitane (17,830,000 searches)

A go-to for luxurious-feeling skincare and body care on the high street, we were surprised to see L'Occitane land quite so high up the list, but given the brand's loyal fandom and nourishing formulas it makes sense. The Almond Shower Oil is a forever favourite, while the Shea Butter Intense Hand Balm was voted best hand cream by our readers in the 2024 Power List Awards.

7. Estée Lauder (16,390,000 searches)

Legacy brand, Estée Lauder, has kept up with newer contenders by sticking to exemplary formulas that have won over its customers for years. The brand's Advanced Night Repair serum is its own institution and the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation remains a favourite among makeup artists and loyal repeat customers for a no-budge formula that gives incredible coverage across an inclusive range of skin tones (no wonder it won best full-coverage foundation at the 2024 GLAMOUR Power List Awards).

8. L'Oréal (15,260,000 searches)

L’Oréal Paris are one of the most wide-ranging beauty brands on the high street, delivering top tier skincare, haircare and makeup under the same umbrella. The True Match Foundation is regularly touted as one of the best affordable formulas to pick up, while it also boasts icons like the Elnett hairspray. The brand tied for top winner at this year's Power List Beauty Awards with four wins, including it's newer innovation, the Glycolic Gloss 5 Minute Lamination Treatment for unbeatably shiny strands.

9. Olaplex (14,880,000 searches)

Olaplex's bonding technology broke the beauty internet when it launched, and its since become one of the most reliable brands among hair stylists and consumers for repairing strands and restoring hair health. The results speak for themselves, as do the awards (Olaplex won four at the Power List Awards). The No.3 Hair Perfector is a hero treatment for visibly nourished and glossy hair.
