HEAD:
With Brown Sugar Yarn:
Round 1: Ch 2, 8 sc into first ch st. (8 sts)
Rounds are worked continuously. Place a st marker in the first st of round. Move it up with each new round to keep track of start of round.
Round 2: 2 sc into each st. (16 sts)
Round 3: *2 sc, sc in next st, repeat from * to end of round. (24 sts)
Round 4: *2 sc, sc in next 2 sts, repeat from * to end of round. (32 sts)
Rounds 5-8: sc in each st around.
Round 9: *2 sc, sc, 2 sc, sc, 2 sc, sc in next 11 sts, repeat from * to end of round. (38 sts)
Rounds 10-12: sc in each st around.
Round 13: *Sc2tog three times, sc in next 13 sts, repeat from * to end of round. (32 sts)

NOSE:
With Cocoa Yarn:
Row 1: Ch 2, 2 sc in first st. Turn. (2 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in last st. Turn. (3 sts)
Row 3: Repeat row 2. (4 sts)
Tie off yarn with a long tail for sewing.
Stitch nose to mouth piece.
Make another long stitch coming from the bottom of nose to make the mouth line.
When nose is in place, stitch mouth piece to finished head piece.
Cut a length of Toffee yarn.
Thread one end through the back of the head, and out bottom of the mouth piece, leaving the end out the back of the head.
Move over one stitch on the mouth piece and thread the yarn back through the head again, coming out the same hole as the first end.
Pull to cinch the mouth piece.
Knot the ends at the back of the Head, then thread them into the Head to hide them.
EYES:
Cut a length of Cocoa yarn.
Stitch arc shaped eyes onto the otter's head with an embroidery back stitch.
EARS:
With Brown Sugar Yarn:
Make 2.
Round 1: Ch 2, 8 sc into first ch st. (8 sts)
Rounds are worked continuously. Place a st marker in the first st of round.
Move it up with each new round to keep track of start of round.
Round 2: sc in each st around.
Tie off yarn with a long tail for sewing.
BODY:
With Brown Sugar Yarn:
Attach the yarn to the front loops that were skipped from Round 16 of the head.
Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each front loop around, sl st to top of ch 2. (16 sts
Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc, dc in 6, 2 dc, 2 dc, dc in 6 sts, 2 dc in last st. (20 sts)
Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in next st, 2 dc, repeat from * to end of round. (32 sts)
Rounds 4-8: dc in each st around.
Do not tie off.
Proceed to Leg 1.
LEG 1:
Round 1: Ch 2, dc in next 7 sts, mark next st, skip the next 16 sts of the last body row, dc working in both the marked st and the 17th st, dc in the last 7 sts, sl st into top of ch 2. (15 sts)
Rounds 2: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.

Round 1: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2 to close round. (15 sts)
Round 2: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st into top of ch 2.
Round 3: Ch 2, *dc2tog, dc in next st, repeat from * to end of round. (10 sts)

Rows 4-5: Repeat rows 2 and 3.
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Rotate piece and work row 7 along the edge of previous rows.

Tie off yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.
Stitch the Shell to the chest of the otter body.
Fold the arms into the middle of the body and stitch them in place on either edge of the shell.
