What You'll DoThe Employee Health Manager is responsible for managing the employee health service functions of Bassett Health System. Reporting to the Total Rewards Director, this position manages the healthcare program operations and supervises the employee health staff. Ensures all medical records are kept in a manner compliant with appropriate policies, laws, and procedures. Responsible for pre-employment screenings, mandatory testing standards, such as annual PPD testing, fitness-for-duty exams, restricted duty exams and respiratory fit testing program.
The Employee Health Manager is also responsible for providing and ensuring that employees are offered first aid treatment of work related injuries, immunizations and vaccinations. The incumbent coordinates projects that have Employee Health implications by working with other operational areas of Human Resources and/or with other departments throughout the organization. Recommends action plans for problem resolution. Monitors organizational Employee Health policy, procedure, processes and practice to ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Works directly with the Director Total Rewards to develop and maintain network structure and operational procedures to meet organizational needs for employee health services.
- Develops and monitors operational procedures and performance standards which ensure safe, effective and efficient daily operations.
- Ensures delivery of immunizations and vaccinations.
- Provides direction to staff to ensure appropriate resource availability.
- Develops strategies and implements objectives to ensure efficient and effective department performance.
- Monitors and reports department performance related to established objectives.
- Develops a network staffing structure which supports network wide coordination of objectives and coverage.
- Develops a staff schedule to meet organizational needs.
- Directs staff selection through the interview process.
- Participates in retention-related activities.
- Supervises, assesses performance, and provides feedback and direction to department staff members.
- Ensures compliance with procedures, policies and regulatory requirements. Develops and implements network policy.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements, such as PPD testing, respiratory fit testing etc.
- Conducts Pre-Employment Exams, Fitness-for-Duty exams, Restricted Duty exams, and physical examinations for respiratory fit testing as necessary.
- Manages worker’s compensation program.
- Ensures compliance with division and institutional policies and protocols.
- Proactively identifies safety-related issues, addresses identified issues and institutes procedures which minimize risks to patients and staff.
- Reports and acts to correct compliance and risk related issues.
- Develops policy within the division, assesses effectiveness of established policies.
- Effectively manages financial resources in support of HR and institutional objectives.
- In conjunction with the Director Total Rewards develops and implements annual operational and capital budgets, monitors and reports budgetary variances and emergency capital needs.
- Reallocates and prioritizes resources.
- Develops and implements expense control and efficiency mechanisms.
- Establishes and maintains communication patterns which facilitate effective operations and service to employees.
- Meets with network employee health staff on a regular basis.
- Participates in multidisciplinary committees, work groups and teams to facilitate efficient and effective operations and affect safe patient care.
- Coordinates and ensure proper communication regarding health promotion programs and disease prevention activities, physical fitness programs and occupational health programs. (e.g. stress management, weight loss education/dietitian referral, ergonomic assessments, wellness library).
- Establishes and maintains effective performance improvement processes.
- Identifies areas for performance improvement, plans, acts and evaluates effectiveness of improvement measures.
- Tracks and reports performance improvement activities as appropriate and/or required by institutional guidelines.
EducationWhat we need from you
- 2 Year / Associate Degree and graduate of an accredited RN nursing program, required
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, BSN preferred
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an ambulatory or like setting, required
- Minimum 3 years leadership experience, required
- Experience with Workers' Compensation and Employee Health, preferred
License / Certification
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse License, required

Physical Requirements
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to:
USD $35,000.00
Pay Transparency
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range MinimumUSD $93,204.80/Yr.
Pay Range MaximumUSD $139,796.80/Yr.
