You have clickable links in your document, such as fields, web and email addresses, and the like. But you don’t want them as links — for some reason, you want them as plain, unclickable text.
It’s very easy to convert them… once you know how. And as with many functions in Word, there are several methods you can use to achieve the same end result — plain text instead of links. Use the method that suits you the best.
Method 3: Change ALL links, fields etc. in a document to plain text:
Warning!! Any bookmarks, automatic table of contents entries, automatic cross-references, auto captions or other linked field codes will also be removed if you use this method. And that might not be what you want!

Broken links are links that lead to pages that do not exist. When clicking on a broken link, the page you land on is called a 404 error page. Click on Site Configuration, and select Crawl Access.Select Remove URL.
Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header & Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections. Select Header or Footer and do one of the following: Choose Remove Header or Remove Footer near the bottom of the menu.
First, go to the "References" tab in Word or the "References" section in Mendeley. Then, locate the cross reference that you want to remove. Next, select the cross reference and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. This will remove the cross reference from your document or reference list.
