A: When you use your Caxton Card, we recommend you pay in the local currency. Even if a shop or ATM gives you the choice to pay in GBP, Euros or Dollars, it works out more cost-effective to pay in the local currency (so you don't get overcharged at the retailer's exchange rate).
Q: Can I use my Caxton Card after Brexit?
A: After Brexit, your Caxton currency card will be accepted anywhere that accepts MasterCard. We recommend loading your travel money card in as far advance as you can so you can get the best rates.
Q: Can you withdraw money from a Caxton Card?
A: Yes, you can withdraw cash from your Caxton card for free.
Q: Can I use my Caxton travel money card for security deposits?
A: We don't recommend you do this as your funds can be held for up to 20 days. Instead, use another payment card for a security deposit and your Caxton Card when you need to make a payment.
Q: How do I check my balance?
A: You can check your balance by using the Caxton app, or by logging on to your Caxton account online. We recommend you don't check it at an ATM as you will get charged.
Q: How do I find an ATM?
A: You can use the Mastercard ATM finder to find your nearest ATM. We recommend you stick to Bank ATMs and to stay away from ATMs that are branded as Cashzone, Travelex, Moneybox and Euronet as they might charge increased withdrawal fees.
Q: Are Caxton cards contactless?
A: Yes, Caxton Cards all come with contactless technology and come equipped with Chip & PIN security for added peace of mind.
Q: How do I put money onto my Caxton card?
A: When you load your first funds onto your Caxton Card, you need to do so online on the Caxton site. Any funds after that can be easily loaded using the free Caxton app.
Q: How long will my Caxton card be valid for?
A: Caxton currency cards are valid for 3 years. The expiry date is printed on the card, and when you log into your Caxton account close to its expiration you will be prompted to renew your card.
