Psalm 25:1–7 reveals David's trust in the Lord in a time of intense danger. He waits on the Lord to keep him from falling into disgrace at the hands of his foes. Parallel to this, Psalm 37:1–11 contains David's counsel about trusting the Lord and waiting on Him.

The enemies of God are also the enemies of the people that believe in God. Psalm 25 teaches us not to stop believing in God just because life becomes hard. We must not do things in our own way. We must do things God's way.

These simple practices will help you see God outside of difficult things, which will establish trust in your heart that He will move in your circ*mstances.

If we lean in close to Him through Bible study and prayer, we'll hear Him whispering the confidential mystery into our hearts. Be still and listen: “The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant” (Psalm 25:14).

All we need to do is believe, with no doubts nagging at the edge of our minds. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6). Our limited intellectual understanding isn't a requirement of faith.

Jesus' disciples embodying this divine trust further exemplifies it for us today.

Faith is a belief that is not based on proof, a belief with no supportive evidence. Trust is something that is based on past experience. Once I read: trust is earned, faith is given. Very often the word 'faith' is used to describe supernatural experience, divine domain – religious faith.

“They are new every morning”

Since he has eternal love then his mercy will be as well because they are connected. The statement that God's mercies are new every morning is really a reminder to us. God gives mercy for each day and it is refilled and refreshed each morning.

To say “The Lord is my shepherd” does not mean that I own Him but that He owns me. The shepherd owns the sheep; they are his property. They are not wild animals like wolves. He purchases them at a price and cares for them with love.

He recognises God as the one who has saved him – he doesn't trust in his own strengths but knows God is the one who rescues us by His grace. David knows his shortcomings before God. He knows that he has no other hope and will have no other hope than God in whatever is still to come.

To humble oneself is to acknowledge God as Lord and to obey as servant. In order to do so, then, the Son had to take “the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:7). “We, as creatures, must obey our Creator, and he, as our brother, did the same.”
