Macy’s is celebrating Pride month with a robust lineup of programs. The retailer is holding an in-store and online donation to benefit The Trevor Project and its initiatives for LGBTQ+ youths. In addition, Macy’s joins its fellow Macy’s Inc. nameplates Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury in putting queer-owned brands in the spotlight through sharing brand stories via digital activations. On Thursday, Macy’s Live will debut an episode of LiveStyle dedicated toward sharing stories behind LGBTQ+-owned, founded and designed products.
“As part of our Mission Every One commitment, we offer our customers, colleagues and communities product from LGBTQ+-owned, founded and designed brands, support Pride events nationwide and foster partnerships with crucial organizations,” said Bobby Amirshahi, Macy’s, Inc. SVP and head of corporate communications, social impact, and government and public affairs. “Our longstanding partnership with The Trevor Project supports LGBTQ+ youth through access to lifesaving counseling services and uplifting PSAs that encourage young people to live their truth and embrace their authentic selves.”
LGBTQIA+ community impact: Macy’s has been a supporter of The Trevor Project, the largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth, since 2019. The retailer has donated more than $6.2 million.
