Instructions
SMB1 (Server Message Block) is a network-layered protocol mainly used on Windows for sharing files, printers, and communication between network-attached computers. SMB1 is considered a deprecated and non-secured protocol. For that reason, by design, it is blocked by default due to the security reasons and can be re-enabled by customer if needed.
Unless manually enabled, the PowerStore cluster will not be able to connect with SMB1.
How to enable SMB1:- Connect to PowerStore service shell.
- Verify that indeed SMB1 is disabled using svc_nas_tools command:
svc_nas_tools --server <nas_server_name> --args="-param -facility cifs -info smb1.disabled"
- Enable SMB1 using this command:
svc_nas_tools --server <nas_server_name> --args="-param -facility cifs -modify smb1.disabled -value 0"
- Confirmation of command from lab array changing to SMB1, and then back to SMB2:.
