It sounds like a good idea, but I don't think we're so far from it:https://lnkd.in/dbmbjU2UIf you watched the video I shared before, #Figure1 robots 🤖 are already integrating #OpenAI and can perform physical actions like speaking, choosing fruits, etc:https://www.figure.ai/Another thing would be (for now) constructing or more heavy tasks since they might require more specialized and resilient robots. However, "simple" tasks like doing your laundry or dishes, it's not so far from our current reality. However, could you afford one? That's another story. #Covid19 and the #greatresignation intensified the development of these solutions since fewer people wanted to do manual work and companies had to figure out solutions to their challenges.#generativeai #future #technology #ai #genai #robots #tiktok

Question for educators and their leaders:How would the below quote from Joanna Maciejewska resonate with you if it applied to teaching and learning?I.e. "I want AI to do my 'non-teaching' teacher work (e.g. set up markbooks, crunch student data, help with accreditation logging...), not do my teaching 'bread-and-butter tasks' (e.g. write my units of work, write personalised reports about my students)" ?Let me know in your comments!Kim M. - thank you for sharing this post! it's a beauty for food for thought in any industry considering AI.#teachers #education #AIineducation #teachingandlearning #AI

I think there's a misunderstanding here about how AI research works.AI researchers in past decades didn't solve chess first because they thought that playing better chess was the most important problem for humanity to solve. It got solved because it was *possible* to solve it, while most AI problems were simply not.If we knew how to build sufficiently intelligent robots to do laundry and dishes, we would do it. The problem is that nobody knows how to do it.The "choice" of what is being solved with AI today is not really a choice at all. It's simply the set of all the things that are easy enough that we've figured out how to do them. As with chess, it turns out that things that we as humans find difficult (art, playing chess, etc.) are often easier for computers than the things we don't even give much thought to (doing laundry, navigating our everyday environments etc.).

It's kind of the same thing as "use modern technology, tools or not" back in those early days when such things would have started coming into human lives.Ones, done for "satisfaction of creating something", "fancy ideas", "intellectual pursuits".. in other words, life was not stopped because of not having those "toys, ideas, creations".For life or living, we all need to:A. Live under a roof, Eat, Sleep, Wash, Gather-Earn or Grow Food.B. Have people to talk-share moments with, express ourselves, laugh too often.thenC. Do things "beyond survival"!This [C] aspect is where Societies, Civilisations, Geographies, Philosophies, People can go wrong largely; dangerously and are! We've gone too far in "beyond survival" pursuits, pastimes..Indulged in "toy making", "child plays".Forget AI, let's audit, review most things around: "Useful, Efficient, Comfort" tech, tools.. !!Humanity started going in the wrong direction from 200, 400 to 500 years back, in the context of "the kind of tech" that can be related to today’s.We can't create toys and expect the masses to use them wisely! We can at least, from a creator, investor, entrepreneur, scientist to think through well before bringing a new toy to the world!Strongly condemn if you leave it to people for Apt Usage of "something powerful in both ways".Time to undo!Time to go back in time or "let's destroy the world"!Disagree?Let's kill all humans in the world with a pleasant bio-weapon or virus and see how the planet looks, feels 😋 (leaving few to witness like Noah's Ark if imagination can't help there) 👉 A challenge for Toy Makers, Tech Enthusiasts, Inventors, Intellectuals, World Changers, Entrepreneurs:Can all of you together over last 500 years or for ages to come, bless humanity with an innovation of"Creating" 100 grams of Rice, Wheat, Peas, Vegetables, Fruits whatever for a survival meal, for someone starving, who is going to die for it, otherwise? Hope you get the message. It's important to mind what you're trying to do, if you care about others, the world. Why not choose a more compelling and meaningful problem than Toy Making? If you have to, evaluate it from all angles, looking at the big picture. Most of the time "not doing anything is the best thing we can do to the world" in modern times.#technology #toymaking #modernage #humanvalues #humanity #civilisation

This right here... Daily, and recently, I find myself caught up in boring work that keeps me from the work I truly love because AI is doing the work I truly love... WAIT, how did this happen?!?In our relentless pursuit of efficiency within design realms, we've eagerly handed the reins over to AI. Yet, amidst this rush, a crucial question emerges: Are we inadvertently sidelining our creative passions and diluting the essence of user experience, all while getting entangled in the very mundane tasks AI was meant to obliterate?(Irony much?)While AI tools dangle the carrot of a design revolution, we find ourselves ensnared in an automation cycle that often sidesteps genuine innovation. The reason? AI, for all its prowess in executing tasks, lacks the empathy, the soul, and the nuanced understanding that we, human designers, instinctively weave into our creations. Here’s where we’re veering off course: Instead of deploying AI to tackle the drudgery, we’re caught up micromanaging these automated tasks, squandering precious opportunities to do what we excel at — innovate, empathize, and chase our creative muses. The pivot we need: Embrace AI for the mundane, but keep the design journey deeply human. We must refocus our energies on creativity and understanding our users. This journey isn’t just about simplifying processes; it’s about enriching them, infusing them with meaning.Involving AI should never translate to a trade-off in innovation or a detachment from our creative passion. Rather, it should liberate us to invest more profoundly in what truly matters — designing with passion, with soul, and with an unshakeable focus on the user.Let’s refuse to let AI set the limits of our creativity and leverage it to deepen our engagement with our craft and with the needs of our users. Because, when all is said and done, the true magic of design resides in the human touch — a dimension beyond AI’s reach.#AIDesign #Innovation #UserExperience #DesignThinking #HumanCreativity #DigitalRenaissance #InnovationWithPurpose
