How to delete an app that has a configuration profile on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch (2024)
Learn how to remove an app and its configuration profile.
Apple has removed some apps from the App Store that install root certificates that could allow monitoring of data.If you have one of these apps installed on your device, delete both the app and its associated configuration profile to make sure that your data remains protected.
To delete an app and its configuration profile, follow these steps.
Delete the app
Touch and holdthe appuntil it jiggles.
Then tap the delete buttonin the upper-left corner of the app to delete it. If you see a message that says, "Deleting this app will also delete its data," tap Delete.
If the app has a configuration profile, delete it.
Go to Settings > General >Profilesor Profiles & Device Management,* then tapthe app’s configuration profile.
Then tap Delete Profile. If asked, enter your device passcode, then tap Delete.
* If you don't see this option in Settings, then no device management profiles are installed on your device.

If the app has a configuration profile, delete it. * Go to Settings > General > Profiles or Profiles & Device Management,* then tap the app's configuration profile. * Then tap Delete Profile. If asked, enter your device passcode, then tap Delete.
Remove an app from the Home Screen: Touch and hold the app on the Home Screen, tap Remove App, then tap Remove from Home Screen to keep it in App Library, or tap Delete App to delete it from iPad. Delete an app from App Library and Home Screen: Touch and hold the app in App Library, tap Delete App, then tap Delete.
You can see the profiles you have installed in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management. If you delete a profile, all of the settings, apps, and data associated with the profile are also deleted.
Select the device, user, or group, then click the Edit button next to the configuration profile you want to edit, then use the payload editing panes to make changes. Click Save.
However, configuration profiles are not inherently threatening to security -- iPhone configuration profiles are safe when created by IT and securely distributed to users. The only real threat is malicious configuration profiles, which attackers might distribute through phishing or another form of social engineering.
When you delete an app from Settings > General > iPhone Storage, you'll ensure that all related app data and documents are also deleted. To delete application data from iCloud, go to Settings > your name > iCloud > Manage Account Storage, select an app, and tap the "Delete" option.
Check in iCloud by going to Settings > [name on top] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.If you see the app name, then tap on it and choose "Delete Data from iCloud". Is this after you sign into your account on the app? Delete the app and the data will also be deleted.
Go to iPhone/iPad settings > General and scroll down to find VPN & Device Management.Tap on VPN & Device Management > MDM Profile > Remove Management. You will be prompted to enter your login information or passcode to remove MDM. Enter your credentials and remove the MDM profile from your iPad/iPhone.
