FAQs
Why is my Helium Mobile Hotspot not generating any rewards? Rewards are subject to multiple variables outside of Nova Labs' control. Rewards are a issued by the blockchain, not guaranteed, Nova Labs does not issue or ensure rewards, and the distribution of rewards is subject to change due to blockchain governance.
How do I get helium hotspot off Denylist? ›
Removals from the list are automatic and happen quickly (within 7 days) when a new denylist is generated, assuming hotspot behavior has adjusted. Hotspots can be added manually to the deny list in an emergency measure but will be removed from the manual list automatically after 14 days.
Why is my helium hotspot not working? ›
Make sure that the device you are attempting to connect to the Hotspot with is currently running the latest version of the Helium Mobile application and is currently logged into an active Helium Mobile Subscription account.
Do Helium hotspots make money? ›
A Helium Wireless protocol supports bi-directional (two-way) data transfers between wireless devices and the internet. Helium makes make money when devices pay to send or receive data or to gelocate themselves. Miners earn both Helium tokens and transaction fees.
How do I get more Helium rewards? ›
The key is to set up in an area that's less saturated but still within range of other Helium hotspots. The greater the density of hotspots the greater the reduction in rewards. The rewards for witnessing are severely scaled back for more than four witnesses.
How can I increase my Helium earnings? ›
CORRECTLY SIZE YOUR ANTENNA — Most of the time a low gain (4 dBi or lower) will give you the best earning coverage. Higher gain antennas may *seem* like they should be better. They're usually not. USE LOW LOSS CABLES — Most antennas that ship with cables use the cheapest cable possible.
What is the new denylist in helium? ›
The denylist is a list of IoT Hotspot public keys and a cryptographic signature that have been identified not to be accurately contributing to network coverage or are otherwise circumventing the good faith of the network in an attempt to earn rewards.
Why are so many helium hotspots offline? ›
Although a hotspot can go offline simply because of losing an internet connection half the network's miners being offline implies a much deeper problem. One of the reasons is the deny list. According to Crowdspot.io there are over 157,000 hotspots offline due to being added to the deny list.
How many hotspots do you need for helium? ›
According to Helium Hotspots Map, there are currently 3,831 active mobile hotspots in the network and 357,087 active hotspots for internet-of-things devices.
Why am I getting hotspot failure? ›
Restart and turn off battery saving mode
A simple restart can solve more problems than you think. First, turn your phone off and on again, then turn off Low Power Mode or power saving mode if you have it enabled—this setting can sometimes interfere with your device's hotspot.
Restart the Hotspot device or phone. Restart the devices you are trying to connect to the Hotspot. Delete the Wi-Fi profile on the connecting device and re-add it.
How do you reboot a helium hotspot? ›
Unplug the Hotspot and router from power for 2 minutes. Then, plug them back in and recheck the Internet connection.
Is the Helium project dead? ›
The Helium network is still in its early stages, but the team behind it is working hard to make it accessible to everyone.
Why did Helium fail? ›
B eyond issues with its miners and token system, Helium appears to have a more pressing problem: The company seems to be struggling to generate revenue from its network.
Do Helium hotspots still earn HNT? ›
Some important notes: Hotspots will stop mining HNT tokens. Hotspots will begin mining IOT tokens. Hotspots will become NFTs on the Solana Blockchain, visible in the Helium Wallet App.
How do you get data credits for Helium? ›
Acquiring Data Credits
At a network level, DCs are only generated through the conversion of HNT. However, several tools exist to simplify the process for network users. Once the DC mint transaction is complete, the receiving Helium wallet owns all of the DC and cannot transfer them to any other Helium wallet.
How do Helium rewards work? ›
The Helium Network rewards Hotspots for providing wireless coverage and verifying the Helium Network. Helium has migrated to Solana. All LoRaWAN Hotspots now mine IOT, while HNT is emitted into the subnetwork Treasury. IOT Holders can redeem their IOT for HNT.
Why is my Helium wallet not updating? ›
Balance not updating: This could be due to a syncing issue with the blockchain or a temporary glitch in the app. Unable to send or receive HNT: This could be due to an issue with your wallet address or a problem with the Helium network .
How do Hotspots earn Helium tokens? ›
Hotspots provide miles of wireless network coverage for millions of devices across two wireless standards (LoRaWAN and cellular), and you are rewarded in Helium tokens for doing this.
