For the health and safety of our systems and your account, there’s a limit to the number of server requests a Gmailaccount can make at one time. When the limit is reached, the account is temporarily suspended.
When a user tries to sign in to a suspended account, an error message appears on the sign-in page. Administrators can check the User list in the Admin console to find details about the limits reached and when access to the account will be restored.
How long is an account suspended?
Account suspension typically lasts an hour, but can last up to 24 hours. A user can sign in to their account after the suspension period, when request limits are automatically reset. Sometimes,administrators can reset the Gmail account's suspension.

| Using an outdated mail client or setting up the client to check for mail too often | Keep your mail client current and set it up to check for new messages less frequently. We recommendonce every 15 minutes. |
| Sending files through file-sharing or file-storage software | Share large files, such as spreadsheets, photos, and videos, using Google Drive, Photos, and YouTube. |
| Changing your browser configuration | Clear your browser's cache and cookies regularly, and make sure you're using the latest version of your browser. |
| Adding extensions to your browser | Make sure you're using the latest version of extensions and browser. Important: If your account is suspended repeatedly, uninstall all extensions to determine if they're causing the problem by misusing Gmail. |
| Syncing your Google Account or signing in on multiple computers, clients, or mobile devices | Remove access to your Google Account from computers, clients, or mobile devices you're not using. |
