NASDAQ Dividend Yields

About half of the NASDAQ index does not pay a dividend. The companies that do offer shareholders a dividend tend to offer low yielding dividends. The majority of the dividend payers in the NASDAQ have raised dividends consecutively for between two and four years, while only four companies have boosted dividends for more than 20 years.

Below are all of the dividend paying NASDAQ stocks, with their average yield (as of January 2015), sector and number of years with consecutive dividend increases.

Sectors of the NASDAQ

Technology stocks make up almost half of the NASDAQ index, while stocks in the Services sector make up about 35% of the index. In general, Technology stocks are not known for paying attractive dividends, although more of these companies are starting to pay a regular dividend.

The Bottom Line

Stocks in the NASDAQ are very popular choices for investors, but are much less attractive to dividend payers than the S&P 500 or the Dow 30. There are only a handful of stocks in the NASDAQ that give investors good yields with an impressive history of raises.
