On your Mac, use Purchase Sharing settings in Family Sharing to share purchases with other family members.
Note: To share purchases, family members must be in the same Apple ID country or region. If a family member changes their Apple ID country or region, that person might lose access to other family members’ purchases, and installed apps that were shared from other family members might not work. See the Apple Support article Change your Apple ID country or region.
To change these settings, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Family in the sidebar, then click Purchase Sharing on the right.
If you don’t see Family in the sidebar, set up Family Sharing.
Option | Description | ||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Continue | To set up purchase sharing, click Continue, then click Turn On Purchase Sharing. This option is available if purchase sharing isn’t set up. | ||||||||||
Shared Payment Methods | View the default payment method used by the family organizer and other family members for purchases. See Change the credit card shared by a Family Sharing group. | ||||||||||
Sharing Their Purchases | View whether or not each member of your family is sharing their purchases. Click [your name] to view the Apple ID you use to share purchases, and turn Share My Purchases on or off. | ||||||||||
Stop Purchase Sharing | Click Stop Purchase Sharing to turn off purchase sharing for all members of the Family Sharing group. When you turn off purchase sharing for your Family Sharing group, your family members lose access to all shared iTunes Store, App Store, and Apple Books purchases, and aren’t able to make new shared purchases. |
