Medical Insurance
Harbor Freight recognizes that you have different needs when it comes to your medical plans. Depending on where you live, full-time associates have as many as four medical plans to choose from.
Part-time associates have access to our Limited Medical Plan which provides discounted reimbursem*nt coverage for basic health care services and prescription drugs, with no deductible or copays. HFT covers a free telemedicine and prescription discount plan with 24/7 virtual doctor visits, as well as access to substantial savings on prescription drug expenses.
Dental Insurance
Harbor Freight is proud to offer Associates the option to enroll in dental plans. Available providers will depend on full-time or part-time status.
Vision Insurance
Harbor Freight is proud to offer Associates the option to enroll in vision plans. Available providers will depend on full-time or part-time status.
Paid Time Off
Paid Time Off and Sick Time is offered to all part-time and full-time Associates. Associates have the flexibility to use their accrued time off as desired, or to cash out consistent with this policy.
Company Matched 401(k)
Harbor Freight offers a 401(k) savings plan administered through Principal. We will match 100% of the first 3% that Associates contribute, plus 50% of the next 2%.

Short-Term Disability
This plan option can help cover expenses by paying our Associates cash if they are sick or injured and can’t work. Coverage includes disability due to pregnancy and childbirth. Available providers will depend on full-time or part-time status.

Harbor Freight offers a 20% discount to all part-time and full-time Associates on all items.
Parental Leave
We understand the importance of family, and we provide paid parental leave within the first year of birth or adoption/foster placement of a child. All full-time and part-time
Associates are eligible for full or partial paid leave after the birth of a child or placement of an adopted or foster child according to the schedule below:
- Less than one year of employment: up to four weeks or the offset of the state paid benefit
- More than one year of employment: up to eight weeks or the offset of the state paid benefit
Early Access to Pay
Associates can access up to 50% of their earned wages before payday free of charge one time per pay period.
Employee Emergency Relief Fund
This fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity organization funded by our Associates, for our Associates. It provides short-term financial assistance to eligible Associates who have been affected by an unexpected and unavoidable qualifying event.
Family Planning
The Family Planning Reimbursem*nt program provides financial support to all Associates with any type of family planning such as infertility or adoption.
Life Insurance
Basic life and AD&D insurance is provided to both full-time and part-time Associates. Available providers will depend on full-time or part-time status.
Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Coverage
Accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance coverage options are available. The plan pays a cash benefit in the unfortunate event that Associates are in an accident, diagnosed with a covered illness, or admitted to a hospital.
Medical Travel and Lodging EAP Benefit
Harbor Freight offers travel reimbursem*nt for Associates and dependents that need to travel to receive medical care not available within 50 miles of their residence.

Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts
Harbor Freight provides you with an opportunity to participate in two different flexible spending accounts (FSAs). If you enroll in our High Deductible PPO medical plan, you qualify to contribute tax-free money into a health savings account (HSA). Your HSA funds earn tax free interest and can be used tax free to pay for qualified medical expenses. You can also enroll in a Limited Purpose FSA when enrolled in the High Deductible PPO medical plan.
Medical and Dental Premium Discount
For medically enrolled full-time Associates, we offer a discount on medical rates if they complete wellness credit requirements that include an annual physical and tobacco section within our wellness program platform. For dental enrolled full-time Associates, we offer a discount on dental rates if they complete a dental wellness credit requirement of an annual dental exam and cleaning and submit within our wellness program platform.
At-Home Health Checkup
For medically enrolled full-time Associates and their dependents, we offer a no-cost virtual checkup to check your status on many health topics and discuss your results with a nurse practitioner.
Long-Term Disability
Full-time Associates have a company-paid core benefit of 50% and a buy-up option for an additional cost.
Commuter Benefits
Our commuter benefits program helps our Associates save money on commuting costs.
Virtual Physical Therapy Program
For medically enrolled full-time Associates and their dependents, we offer a no-cost virtual physical therapy program to help you overcome your joint and muscle pain at home.
Legal Plan
Our legal plan provides our Associates, their spouses, and their eligible dependents with fully covered legal services from experienced attorneys.
Identity Theft Protection
Associates have the option to enroll in identify theft protection.
Pet Insurance
Our full-time Associates are eligible for a discount on pet insurance.
