Alan Titchmarsh, 75, is a well-known professional gardener and radio and TV presenter who has been a familiar face on British television for many years.
Titchmarsh first dipped his toes into the world of radio when he hosted the gardening show House in a Garden on BBC Radio 2. He then made his way onto our screens as a horticulture expert on the BBC TV show Nationwide before taking on the role of presenting the Chelsea Flower Show for BBC television in 1983.
In 1996, Titchmarsh took over the reins as the host of the BBC's Gardeners' World, with the show even being filmed in his own garden.
He later began hosting the popular BBC One TV series Ground Force alongside presenters Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh.
Aside from his gardening exploits, Titchmarsh has also penned several fiction books, with his first being published by Simon and Schuster in 1998, reports the Express.
Originally hailing from Ilkley, West Riding of Yorkshire, Titchmarsh now splits his time between Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
He and his wife Alison relocated to their Grade II-listed Georgian farmhouse in Hampshire in 2002. The property, set within four acres of land, boasts 10 mini waterfalls, a large greenhouse, a shed and an abundance of lush greenery.

Titchmarsh also has a coastal home near Cowes on the Isle of Wight, where he spends roughly a third of his time every year.
Rightmove shows that the overall average price of homes in Alton, Hampshire came to £377,661 over the past year. Terraced properties made up the most sales in Alton over the last year, fetching an average price of £353,213.
Simultaneously, properties in Cowes averaged prices at £343,195 over the past year.
