UBA UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Bank for Africa Plc.

We are authorized by the Prudential Regulation Authority (”PRA”) and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the PRA.

Leveraging the UBA Group footprint, UBA UK is firmly positioned to facilitate trade, capital and aid flows between the international and African markets.

We specialize in supporting financial institutions, corporates, governments and global institutions looking for an international banking partner who understands Africa.

History

UBA UK commenced wholesale banking operations in the UK on 19th March 2018. The bank is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the PRA.

UBA UK was originally established as a financial services firm in 1995 and was fully acquired by United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) in 2013.

Our parent company, UBA, is one of the oldest banks in Africa, dating back to 1949 with a presence in 20 African countries, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and France. A leading Pan-African financial services group, headquartered in Nigeria and quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, UBA has over 20 million customers in Africa, a suite of innovative products and services, and a dedicated workforce, ready to fulfil your business needs.

What We Do

We facilitate trade, capital and aid flows between international global markets and the African continent.
We leverage on our expert knowledge of our home, Africa, and the competitive advantage provided by our network, products and services, and our technology platform.

Trade Finance Services

Advising, confirming and discounting of letters of credit for Africa centric business.

Treasury

Foreign exchange and fixed income brokering, money market, funding (including wholesale deposit taking), cash flow management and bond investments.

Financial Institution Relationships

Bilateral and structured funding arrangements for African banks, including secondary market risk participation and distribution to and from a network of international correspondent financial institutions.

Corporate Banking

Relationship management, facilitation of cross-border trade finance, treasury services and bilateral and structural funding arrangements.

Central Banks

Executing their reserves, currency and investment management mandates.

Multilateral and International Development Organisations

The facilitation of multi-currency cross-border aids and other flows into Africa, including our ability to leverage our Group network to deliver “last mile” payments.
