The Wooden God is a mysterious and malevolent entity worshipped as a deity by some cults, feared as a demon by others and ultimately classed as a multi-dimensional parasite by those who combat paranormal threats.
Existing in a state beyond time or space the entity that makes up the Wooden God is able to possess the minds of individuals across the multiverse and forces them to carve elaborate sculptures out of wood, often these structures depict animals or ancient deities, sometimes a fusion of both.
After these structures are formed the Wooden God influences more individuals to gather around the structure and engage in all manner of strange rituals, at first the rituals start harmless enough but soon escalate into darker and more destructive deeds as the entity gathers larger and larger followings.
Eventually these rituals become murderous and involve torture, cannibalism and the sacrifice of innocents - the blood of victims are spilled upon the woooden structures as a "gift" to the Wood God, often bones from those cannibalized in these rituals are hung upon the structure as well, creating a terrible shrine to depravity.
After a while the Wooden God starts to pursue new conquests and leaves its former followers alone to deal with the consequences of their actions - no longer under its influence these victims awake from their trance and are confronted with the horrors they have committed, often going insane as a result.
The Wooden God is also responsible, in part, for the legends surrounding the Wicker Man and similar devices, though it is uncertain why it performs such acts or what its ultimate goal is.
To most paranormal combatants the closest thing to classifying the Wooden God they can achieve is that of a multi-dimensional parasite, leading them to believe it feeds on the chaos and misery it inflicts upon others.
