Instagram was the most deleted app in 2023.Shocking, right? Let's talk about it.Instagram first got popular by letting friends share edited pictures. This simple feature alone, allowed Instagram to grow to over 2 BILLION active users. But as the years passed, Instagram got further away from what got it popular in the first place. First, Instagram got rid of the chronological timeline in 2016. Which users are still upset about.Seeing the success of Snapchat, Instagram copied *I mean released* Stories shortly after.Speaking of copying, in 2020, Instagram released Reels to combat the growth of TikTok.And last but not least, Instagram released Threads in 2023 after folks wanted a new alternative to Twitter.Threads saw 100M downloads in just 5 days - insane! But the product sucked. This led to a 80% drop in users. To summarize, here's why Instagram is declining1️⃣ Not listening to the wants of 'power users'2️⃣ Worrying too much about competitors3️⃣ Trying to win in too many categories4️⃣ Making it hard for creators to monetize5️⃣ Building bad productsI still love Instagram, but it's interesting to see the slow fall of this app.Do you still use Instagram?

I think about deleting it all the time. If it weren't for certain friends who refuse to use TikTok, it would've already been gone!

Sounds like the slow decline of Facebook over the years…ironically they have the same management. Coincidence? I think not. Would you agree Vin?

In this age of information war it's important to remember that facts are not the same as reality.Singular facts can be manipulated, cherrypicked, and selectively highlighted to create a desired impression of what reality is.Reality is all the facts. The more the facts you have in sight the better your understanding of reality. Elon's fact:✅️ Instagram was the most uninstalled app in 2023Other relevant facts:✅️ Twitter (X) was the 3rd most uninstalled app in 2023✅️ Instagram was also the 6th most installed app in 2023✅️ Twitter (X) didn't make the top-10 list of most installed apps in 2023So no, it doesn't look like Instagram is in a huge decline. It does look like X is doing worse than Instagram. ❓️Or is it? Four facts give a more comprehensive view of reality than one. But there's always thousands.Still, 4>1. Don't settle for just 1.

Instagram Stories update: Users will soon be able to share other profiles: Instagram is reportedly developing a new feature aimed at providing users with an additional advantage. The platform is expected to permit users to directly share other profiles within their Stories. This functionality would enable individuals to share the profiles of their favourite creators or celebrities on Instagram. As per information shared by Alessandro Paluzzi on X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram is in the process of developing a feature that allows users to share the profiles of others directly within their Stories. The Story will showcase the first three posts, the profile name, and the bio of the shared user. Additionally, a "View Profile" option will be included.#Instagram is working to add the ability to share someone else's profile in Stories on #Android as well 👀 pic.twitter.com/82ylRbWEC4— Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) December 27, 2023Instagram recently introduced a feature that allows users to create personalized "Add Yours" templates for their Stories. This feature empowers users to incorporate the "Add Yours" sticker into their stories, facilitating the addition of others' stories and their subsequent circulation. Viewers of these Stories will have the ability to see all the stories posted by users under the sticker. http://dlvr.it/T0sFFR

Today I'm not feeling positive; I'm actually pretty angry.I was doom scrolling through TikTok where I came across a video of a mother talking about the inaccessibility of a Barbie photobooth in a store. The mum pointed out the diversity of Barbies in the store but how this photobooth wasn't accessible for her daughter, who uses a wheelchair, rendering it inaccessible and not very inclusive. All sounds great; mum is advocating for her daughter and accessibility, brilliant, much-needed awareness. Sadly, thousands of trolls had descended on this post. The comments were absolutely vile, nasty, ableist, discriminatory, and downright evil. I tried to report these, to no avail. In fact, my attempt to respond and address these comments was removed by TikTok.TikTok shame on you and your app. I reported many of these comments; they remain in place. You are allowing blatant ableism to run amok on your app and do not do enough to remove them.I used to think I should do more TikToks or be more active on there, but after today I know now, TikTok isn't the fun platform we are led to believe. It's where trolls go to play unchecked. It's worse than Twitter ever was. It's a cesspool of evil vile trolling, and what's worse is TikTok does nothing to remove these comments.Ableism is alive and well, and it is potent on Tik Tok. 🚫 I USED TO TRUST TIKTOK.When you decide to zoom into something, that's when you discover the hidden cracks or features...😄Invest £10 into Netflix and you'll get £1000 if you use this app or the other... they first captur all your details, then ask you to pay 99p a day minimum - oh 99p payable monthly that is.We've all heard of Tik Tok everything seems to get vital on that App. After encouragements to be more consistent, I noticed that my posts were consistently hitting 200-250 views and would stop... weird... is there a cache on my account... didn't think much of it...Then I started to pay attention to the seemingly organic post that told me that if I hit the 3 dots, my posts would have higher views... why are there so many of them saying that? I finally paid attention over the week end...The people telling me to hit the 3 dots aren't my friends and those 3 dots actually lead to you paying to get views... As a naive users, I was really annoyed by that...On Instagram, my account used to consistently hit 1000 the first hour of posting a reel, now it barely makes 200... They keep asking me to promote/pay there too...I feel like social media has become a bit like paying to get an award (you have to pay to enter some awards).I don't trust it all anymore. I guess the age of FREE has gone for ever, better get use to payup or die. I don't know what is up with twitter, now a days, too many sex bots are trying to connect with my account.Linkedin in seems to have become the unmovable trusting OG that isn't even trying to water down its vocab. I still like it.❓️HOW about you? Do you think LinkedIn will get in step and start charging you for impressions? Do you still trust it to remain the OG while the kids (TT, IG, threads). play at becoming better blood suckers (cash) and life suckers (screen time)?Oh errrrmmmm Anyone here seeing thebpount of Threads? I still haven't joined.Salute! Bon Mardi a tous. 😇

No April Fools jokes here—these updates are legit. ⬇️🤝 Instagram is testing a new “Blend” feed to create a private Reels feed for you and a friend based on mutual interests and recommendations. 📹 LinkedIn is testing out an in-app video feed, not unlike TikTok. Someone wants to capitalize on a potential TikTok ban. 👀📸 Instagram is testing out the ability to comment on a specific image within a carousel post. You’d just “@” the carousel slide number, and boom, done.👻 Snapchat is rolling out a handful of new creative features, like AI-powered Lenses, templates, and longer video lengths.⌚ ICYMI: Instagram has relocated the timestamp to the top of posts rather than being after the comments.See you next week for more updates! 🫶
