If you want to understand why people hate the metaverse you have to go back to December 9, 2021. Meta had just opened Horizon Worlds to the U.S. and Canada. People over the age of 18 could strap on their Quest headsets and get lost in a magical, virtual world.
They could create their own avatars and use their imagination to build community spaces from the ground up. They could play games like Wing Strikes and fly around the metaverse.
Users could visit Questy’s, an arcade restaurant where they could buy a few virtual snacks and hang out with friends. They could attend live concerts, comedy shows, and nightclubs.
