Hello Scooterjam,
Sorry to hear about your issues with your Gogo Sport. It’s not uncommon for customers to ask us questions such as:
“Why does my mobility scooter keep stopping”
“Why does my mobility scooter keep losing power”
“why does my mobility scooter suddenly stop”
“why does my mobility scooter keep turning off”
“why does my mobility scooter turn off and on”
There are many reasons why a scooter will randomly lose power, but most of the time it’s the batteries. In rare cases, it can also be the motor, but when it’s the motor it usually has a few indicators that you can look out for. For example, if the motor is going bad, it will not just stop abruptly, it will usually start to slow down or even make some noise before turning off.
In other rare circ*mstances, it could be a loss of signal due to a wire getting cut or disconnected somewhere between the controller and the motor.
At the end of the day, it would be best if you had a highly trained and experienced mobility scooter that has worked with Go-Go’s to take a look at it. There are many techs out there that can pinpoint exactly what’s wrong with a gogo quickly, they are not complex machines.
Have you read the troubleshooting guide in the user manual for your Gogo? If not, here is the link:
