Buying Beverly Hills is back for season two on Netflix, as we rejoin the Umansky family at The Agency for more massive houses and major drama. This season, as well as a love triangle between Sophia, Adam and Melissa unfolding, viewers also meet new cast member Zach Goldsmith, who must decide between a dream job offer from Hilton & Hyland and his current role. But who actually is Zach Goldsmith?
He used to work at Hilton & Hyland
As viewers of Buying Beverly Hills season one will know, Not only did he used to work there, but Rick Hilton is his brother in law, as his wife Kyle Richards and Nicky Hilton are half sisters.
Umansky left H&H in 2011 to set up The Agency, agreeing with Rick that he wouldn't poach any of their employees for his own business. While Zach did work at H&H, the company underwent a huge overhaul on 2022 following the death of co-founder Jeff Hyland (who was his mentor) with Zach eventually leaving in November 202 to join The Agency.
During season two, though, Zach reveals Rick Hilton had tried to recruit him, telling Mo that he had been "offered a piece of the company" if he agreed to leave The Agency, adding, "It's wild when you think of equity in the company. I've always liked him and it's wild he would ask me that. It's a vicious, it's wild circle."
Eventually, Zach tells Mo that he wants to stay at The Agency, and wouldn't be taking the other deal.
He has an impressive real estate career spanning 20 years
Zach has been in the industry for over two decades, while he has a number of accolades to his name. According to his website, he he is an “award-winning Top 10 Power Agent to Hollywood luminaries, Fortune 500 CEOs and industry innovators", while he also holds the record for selling the highest residential land deal in LA which was on the market for $150 million.
Zach was named one of "Variety's Real Estate Elite" (catchy) in 2024, and the report claimed his "notable 2023 sales include three Beverly Hills estates for $25 million, $23 million and $14 million; he also sold a Sierra Towers penthouse for $10 million, reportedly to Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom."
His wife is a choreographer and dance instructor
Zach is married to Jennifer Hamilton-Goldsmith, who is both a choreographer and teacher at The Floor Dance Academy in Los Angeles. The pair share two sons.
He has a podcast with fellow Buying Beverly Hills star Ben
Available to watch on YouTube, Ben Belack and Zach have had a weekly podcast since January 2023. It's called 'To Live and Buy in Los Angeles' and, apparently, the show is "designed to motivate, explore, and entertain. Guests of the show will include titans of real estate and beyond."
So far, Jason Oppenheim from Selling Sunset has appeared (love that) as well as Mauricio Umansky, while the pair have discussed everything from the best property sales in the area during the last year, to ways to generate more income as a real estate agent on the show.
He was born in London, but now works in LA
As the bio on The Agency website reads, "Born in London and raised in Los Angeles by a family rooted in real estate, Zach has a deep understanding of the buying and selling processes as well as his adopted city.
