But what kind of plastic is used for flips and capsules now? How do we know that it's not going to damage the coins long-term? Has there been testing?
Surprising difficult to find out, Ilooked into this and no seems to know or advertise the plastics used, only "PVC free". I expect them to be Polyethylene (PE) or Polypropylene (PP), on the grounds that just about anything identifiable is one of these. There's supposed to be a marker on all plastics in EU, a recycle triangle with number,to show the type for recycling, though this doesnt seem enforced or universally followed. Third common plastic marking is Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) which i believe may be poor for long term storage.
