Many crypto projects use airdrops to attract new users and increase token awareness. Free cryptocurrencies are shared with eligible users during airdrops based on certain criteria. The event, which incentivizes users and potential users to use a platform or token, aims to help the token get adopted early.
The Arbitrum (ARB) token airdrop is just about to take place, and this is how you can claim your ARB safely.
When Is the Arbitrum Network Airdrop?
Arbitrum is an Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution created to improve the scalability and performance of the Ethereum smart contract. The network has been under the sole authority of Offchain Lab since its introduction in August 2021. However, introducing the ARB governance token will end the centralized control and make it community governed.
The Arbitrum airdrop and launch on March 23, 2023, will deliver a percentage of the total tokens to eligible ARB users, with some users eligible to claim thousands of ARB tokens based on their interaction with the network.
How to Claim the Arbitrum (ARB) Airdrop
The first thing to do to participate in Arbitrum Airdrop is to visit the Arbitrum airdrop page, where you can connect your wallet with the Connect Wallet option. The connected wallet allows you to collect the airdrop tokens and carry out other activities and transactions on the platform.
You must use an Ethereum wallet compatible with the Arbitrum token; that is, the wallet must be compatible with ERC-20 tokens. Arbitrum's recommended wallets are Rainbow, Coinbase Wallet, Metamask, WalletConnect, Trust Wallet, and LedgerLive.
After you have connected your ERC-20 compatible wallet, Arbitrum will check your eligibility. To be eligible, you must meet at least some of the following criteria based on your activities within the Arbitrum network:
- Completed transactions worth more than $10,000 in value.
- Conducted transactions within two different months.
- Completed more than three transactions on Arbitrum Nova.
- Completed more than four transactions or interacted with four different smart contracts.
- Bridged funds into Abitrum Nova.
- Bridged funds into Abitrum One.
- Deposited more than $50,000 of liquidity into Arbitrum.
The number of tokens you receive from the ARB airdrop will depend on your eligibility score, based on the number of criteria you meet. If you have fewer than three points, you won't be eligible to earn any amount from the airdrop. Depending on the number of points users have, they can earn between 621 ARB and 10,250 ARB, the maximum number of tokens that can be allocated to a wallet.
You won't be able to claim your tokens until March 23, 2023, when claiming goes live. After that, the token will be listed on Binance, where you can start trading it immediately (indeed, some folks have already started trading ARB tokens!).
Of the 10 billion ARB units intended to be its maximum supply, Arbitrum will airdrop 11.62% to its early adopters and 1.13% to the developers using Arbitrum for building apps. As with many crypto airdrops, Arbitrum aims to reward its early users, since only those who have interacted with the ecosystem to a specified extent up until February 16, 2023, can benefit from it.
Furthermore, Arbitrum is attempting to encourage more users to join its ecosystem by stating its intention to initiate more airdrops for users who continue to use the Arbitrum ecosystem.
Beware of Arbitrum Scams
Unfortunately, when a crypto airdrop receives this much hype, it doesn't take long for the crypto scammers to begin circling. Scammers have posted numerous fake links and websites in an attempt to hack into user wallets by falsely promising them airdrop participation, even if they are not eligible, or early access to ARB tokens to get ahead of the market.
As the airdrop date approaches, it is necessary to exercise caution, particularly if you are eligible, to ensure you are using the right method and not falling prey to scammers.
One way to avoid being scammed is to make sure you only access Arbitrum's airdrop through the Arbitrum Foundation, the official site for the project.
Arbitrum Is an Exciting Ethereum Project
The hype surrounding the Arbitrium airdrop is understandable. It is already a popular Ethereum Layer 2 solution with many users and supporters worldwide. The rollout of its cryptocurrency is a boon for those users, and we're interested to see where it will lead in the coming months. Just watch out for those Arbitrum airdrop scams.
