What to Pack | Camp Denali Alaska Vacation (2024)

Please keep in mind that you are limited to 25 pounds of luggage for the round-trip flights. Refer to the list of "Available to borrow" items that you may not need bring to Camp Denali. Luggage storage is available at our park entrance-area office for anything you do not need to fly with.

Essential items

  • Hiking boots: over the ankle

NOTE: Hiking is mostly on trail-less terrain or primitive trails. Conditions may include gravelly or boulder-strewn ground. Running/walking shoes are not recommended for the hikes. Even if you only participate in leisurely walks,hiking boots are important for your comfort and safety.

  • Waterproof rain jacket and rain pants (also available onsite to borrow)
  • Hiking attire:
    • Hat and gloves (wool or fleece)
    • Warm layers (wool or synthetic pullover, vest, or lightweight jacket)
    • Shirts (short and long-sleeved)
    • Pants (lightweight, quick-drying and breathable)
    • Long underwear top and bottom (wool or synthetic)
  • Casual clothes and shoes

Optional items

  • Bathing suit for a dip in the pond or Moose Creek
  • Camera and extra camera batteries
  • Pack cover
  • Binoculars
