1 Barcode Scanning
Barcode scanning is one of the most widely used technologies for inventory tracking and verification. Barcode scanners can read the unique codes printed on product labels or packaging, and transmit the data to your warehouse management system (WMS). This way, you can quickly and accurately identify, locate, and count your inventory items, as well as update your inventory records in real time. Barcode scanning can also reduce human errors, such as misreading, mislabeling, or misplacing products, and increase the speed and accuracy of your picking, packing, and shipping processes.

Barcode and RFID systems can help in accurately tracking inventory by assigning unique identifiers to each product. Scanning barcodes or RFID tags during receiving, storage, and shipping processes ensures real-time visibility of inventory levels and reduces manual data entry errors. Not only this but a well developed Inventory management software is a must.

Not only scanning but introduce Cyclic counting. This way you count on movement and value. Each SKU should not be treated the same. Improves accuracy and customer service.

You can utilize technologies such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), barcodes, automated inventory management systems, and inventory management software to improve inventory accuracy in the manufacturing and warehousing industry. Using these technologies can help you more efficiently track products in stock, reduce human errors, optimize counting processes, and facilitate item identification in real time. Implementing appropriate technological systems can result in more efficient and accurate inventory management, contributing to cost reduction and increased productivity in storage and manufacturing operations.

2 RFID Tagging
RFID tagging is another technology that can improve your inventory accuracy by using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and readers. RFID tags are small devices that store information about the product, such as its name, SKU, quantity, location, and expiration date. RFID readers are devices that can scan the tags wirelessly, without requiring direct contact or line of sight. This means that you can scan multiple tags at once, even if they are inside boxes or pallets, and capture the data automatically. RFID tagging can also provide real-time visibility of your inventory movements, as well as alerts for low stock levels, misplaced items, or expired products.

3 Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems
Automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) are systems that use robots, conveyors, cranes, or other automated devices to store and retrieve inventory items from designated locations. ASRS can optimize your warehouse space, as they can store products in high-density racks or bins, and access them efficiently. ASRS can also improve your inventory accuracy, as they can track and record the location and status of each product, and prevent human errors or damages. ASRS can also increase your productivity and safety, as they can perform repetitive and heavy tasks faster and more reliably than manual workers.

4 Inventory Management Software
Inventory management software is a software application that helps you manage your inventory data and processes. Inventory management software can integrate with your barcode scanners, RFID readers, ASRS, or other devices, and collect and analyze the data from them. Inventory management software can also help you monitor your inventory levels, track your inventory movements, generate inventory reports, forecast your inventory demand, and optimize your inventory replenishment. Inventory management software can also help you improve your inventory accuracy, as it can identify and correct any discrepancies or errors in your inventory records, and provide you with accurate and timely information.

5 Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is a technology that allows you to access and store your data and applications on remote servers over the internet, rather than on local servers or devices. Cloud computing can enhance your inventory management, as it can provide you with greater scalability, flexibility, security, and accessibility. Cloud computing can also improve your inventory accuracy, as it can enable you to access and update your inventory data from anywhere, anytime, and from any device, as well as synchronize your data across multiple locations and platforms. Cloud computing can also reduce your IT costs, as you only pay for the resources and services that you use, and avoid the maintenance and upgrade expenses of on-premise systems.

The best way I learned for improve inventory management is to " To say what you can sell and sell what you have " means sale what you forecasted and sell what is available in your warehouse. 2ndly do forecasting considering channel inventory and do forecasting based on future business ;biggest mistake people do forecasting based on historical data.
