What it i put wrong account number but right routing number
They will return it to the IRS and mail a paper check. I had a direct deposit date of 2/22 and a check was issued in 2/26, so today.

If youentered a valid (but incorrect) account number not belonging to you, usually there's nothing to worry about, as many banks won't deposit tax refunds into accounts where names don't match up. You can trycalling the IRSto stop the direct deposit,if your return hasn't posted to their system yet (and you're willing to get your refund via paper check).For security reasons, the IRS cannot re-route your refund to a different account.

I had the same issue my DD date was 2/24 . How long did it take for you to recieve your check , and where can I go to see the issue date?

@Joey102003Once your tax refund has been sent to the bank by the IRS, the bank should then reject the funds and send it back to the IRS. The IRS will then issue a tax refund check and mail it to the address on your tax return. Once this is done, you should receive the check via mail within 14 business days.

Thank you ! A friend of mine has a friend who works for the IRS and they said they tried to send it on the 23rd and 24th and Regions rejected it both times. He said I should receive the check in 7 to 13 days . I really hope that is true. On the Wheres My Refund app it still shows sent DD will that change ? Also is there any way to correct my account info ( I left one number out ) ? I know it won’t matter for my refund, but if the third stimulus passes I would like to have the accurate info.

No, once the return is submitted for e-filing, the line item entries cannot be changed, unfortunately. Thisis a protective device for users more than anything else. Once your return is fully processed and you receive your refund, you can go in and amend your return to adjust for this oversight. Amending is truly rather simple as it is not at all a complete "re-do" of your return, just an adjustment to the section(s) that require adjusting for their record keeping.
