Cortana is a virtual assistant created by Microsoft for Windows 10. The virtual assistant can respond to voice commands, set reminders, answer questions such as weather, traffic conditions and more.
You can use Cortana with your keyboard and mouse, and touch by typing in the "Ask me anything" search bar beside the “Start” button.
You can also use the assistant hands-free with voice commands. If you want to use voice commands hands-free, follow these steps:
Click on the “Cortana” search bar.
Click “Settings”.
Under “Hey Cortana”, turn on the toggle switch to let Cortana respond to “Hey Cortana”.
After enabling “Hey Cortana”, you may begin using the assistant by speaking “Hey Cortana” on your microphone.
Note: This feature will constantly keep Cortana listening to your voice which in turn may affect battery life.
