Why gaining the Level 7 Diploma will benefit you

With regulation coming into the aesthetics industry, you will need to make sure you meet the requirements to perform aesthetic treatments. The government will be introducing a new licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. This means that to carry out any aesthetic treatments, you will need a practitioners license and a premises license.

The level 7 aesthetics diploma will provide you with the relevant knowledge and practical skills to safely and competently perform the following procedures independently:

  • The use of Botulinum Toxin to treat the upper and lower face
  • The use of Dermal Fillers to treat nasolabial folds, marionette lines, oral commissures, lip augmentation and cheek augmentation

STRUCTURE OF THE LEVEL 7 AESTHETICS DIPLOMA

In order to achieve the Level 7 Diploma you must successfully complete 6 mandatory units. These units cover all key topics of Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Filler treatments such as; pharmacology, understanding your patient, anatomy and ageing, managing possible complications and effective treatment administration.

The full qualification will be delivered via the following route:

  • Foundation Botox and Dermal Filler Training Course

    Our one day Foundation Botox and Dermal Filler Training course is your starting point for a career in medical aesthetics.

  • Online training modules

    Using a mixture of videos and interactive modules, our online training provides delegates with in depth knowledge; ranging from understanding your patient, complications to the historical context of aesthetics.

  • Assignments and literature review

    Your coursework will consist of an assignment paper and a 1500 literature review for clinical study, using knowledge gained in your interactive online modules and your own research.

  • Clinical observation days

    Your Clinical Observation Day will allow you to observe 10 Botox and 10 Dermal Filler treatments administered by our experienced practitioners.

  • Supervised practical days

    You will now complete supervised practice days, administering 10 Botox and 10 Dermal Filler treatments under the supervision of our expert trainers.

  • Examination

    You will need to complete a final practical examination of 1 Botox and 1 dermal filler. As well as an external objective exam.

Your options for the Level 7 Qualification

There are two different approaches to gaining your level 7 aesthetics diploma depending on your level of experience. The route to achieving this will depend on your previous training and any aesthetic experience you might have. We also offer access to the JCCP Register but this is not seen as a Level 7 Qualification.

LEVEL 7 QUALIFICATION

FAST TRACK: RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

The Recognition of Prior Learning RPL route is designed for experienced practitioners who have been injecting patients consistently. To enroll in the RPL, you will need to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in aesthetics and have completed a minimum of 30 Botox and 30 filler treatments, and have a colleague or peer who will be your reference to verify your experience.

LEVEL 7 FAST TRACK

Suitable for experienced injectors, our Level 7 Fast Track has been built in collaboration with VTCT to improve access to the Level 7 Diploma Qualification. The new Level 7 Fast Track Diploma is also regulated by OfQual.

Who is eligible for Level 7 and what qualifications are needed to enroll?

LEVEL 7 QUALIFICATION

The Level 7 Aesthetic Medicine Diploma is suitable for all medically registered professionals including: Doctors, Dentists, Pharmacists, Independent Nurse or Midwife Prescribers, Nurse Practitioners (without independent prescribing rights) or Midwives (without independent prescribing rights).

If you are not from the UK we will need to see proof of qualification and of registration from your country. If English is not your first language we will need you to complete a English Language Testing System (IELTS).

FAST TRACK: RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

If you are an experienced aesthetic practitioner then you may be able to evidence the clinical practice elements of the diploma using treatments you have performed prior to enrolling. This is known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The RPL route is only valid for the clinical practice components of the qualification. Those choosing the RPL route are required to complete the online learning material, summative synoptic assignments, literature review and final practical assessment with an external objective examination to demonstrate their level of confidence in aesthetic medicine. With the RPL option the clinical practice components of the Level 7 Diploma will be submitted in the form of a log book to demonstrate the practitioners aesthetic experience, this must include:

• Evidence of 30 case studies for botulinum toxin and 30 case studies for dermal filler (60 in total) collated within the last 2 years.
• A reference from an experienced aesthetic colleague or peer who can confirm your prior learning.

LEVEL 7 FAST TRACK

The Level 7 Fast Trackis open to medical professionals such as doctors, dentists, and nurses who have 3 years’ experience and are able to provide proof of insurance within the 3 years.

What are the entry requirements for the level 7 diploma?

This qualification is suitable for all medically registered professionals including: Doctors, Dentists, Independent Nurse or Midwife Prescribers, Nurse Practitioners (without independent prescribing rights) or Midwives (without independent prescribing rights). We will require confirmation of your professional registration number to confirm your professional status. If you are not a native English speaker then you must have an English language level of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 7.0 in all components, or equivalent and this score must be less than 2 years old.

How much practical hands-on experience will I get?

Our qualification framework has been adapted to ensure you receive a maximum amount of guided learning hours. You will see over 40 individual patient cases during your qualification, each one selected by our co-ordinators in order to provide you with cases covering a variety of gender, ages and skin types. Cosmetic Courses only train using live models, all provided by our team. This will provide you with an excellent understanding of the consultation, designing a treatment plan, managing your patients’ expectations, appropriate clinical technique and aftercare support.

Where does the practical parts of the Level 7 take place?

Our Level 7 diploma takes place at our international training centres inBuckinghamshire&Nottingham.

How long do I have to complete the Level 7?

We allow 12 months for the completion of the full qualification.

What happens if I fail any module of my Level 7?

A delegate will be able to re sit a failed module providing they meet the IQ specification guidelines. A fee will be charged per module as follows:

• Foundation Botox and Dermal Filler course £200
• Clinical Observation one retake will be included in your qualification
• Clinical practice £200
• SAQ’s one resubmission will be included in your qualification
• OSCE £300
• Before and after photos not taken from £200

What happens if I need further training?

The programme has been designed in line with industry qualification’s specification for Level 7 diploma in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine. This specification allows for an achievable pass rate for medical professionals. We do our utmost to provide you with the necessary content and guidance in order to ensure you achieve your Level 7 Qualification however It is your responsibility to ensure you are ready for each stage of your qualification. If you feel you need additional support or training in order to pass any aspect of the qualification you must notify the Cosmetic Courses team in advance. This will be provided to you but may incur additional fees, please see below the options available. • OSCE preparation session £300 • Half Day Bespoke 121 Training £650.

What is the cost of Level 7?

There are 2 options to complete our course. The full level 7 qualification is £8,400 including VAT. On a payment plan, there is an initial payment £3410 followed by either 12x £420 or 18x £280. The RPL route is £3000 and on a payment plan the initial payment is £1220 followed by 6x £300 or 12x £150.

Do you offer finance options for the Level 7?

We have a0% interest finance planavailable to help you spread the cost of your qualification. You will need to pay 50% of the course fee upfront plus a £50 administration fee. The rest can then be paid over 6 or 12 monthly instalments. All prices stated are all-inclusive which means there are no hidden costs along the way. The level 7 diploma is suitable for all medically registered professionals including: Doctors, Dentists, Independent Nurse or Midwife Prescribers, Nurse Practitioners (without independent prescribing rights) or Midwives (without independent prescribing rights) with confirmation of your professional registration number to confirm your professional status. This diploma is not open to non-medics.
