The original add-on for Googlesheets was called Spreadstreet.io and since early 2020 has re-branded to become part of the unified Cryptosheets.com platform.

This article covers how to get setup with Cryptosheets in Googlesheets so you can start using the app right now. It also covers some of the primary differences across Excel and Googlesheets to help get you started including:

Using Cryptosheets custom functions in Excel vs Googlesheets is almost exactly the same with a few very slight differences. The most important one is that in Excel there is a "." (period) between the CS and the functionName so =CS.QUERY().

In Googlesheets there is NO "." (period) after the CS so the formula is simply =CSQUERY()

As of January 2020 - Googlesheets also does not yet support full streaming real time data through =CS.EXRATE like Excel does. We expect this to change in the near future so stay tuned to our changelog and join our mailing list a for a coming announcement...

Most data limitations in Cryptosheets are set by:

Googlesheets also imposes additional restrictions in daily user data usage that Excel does not.

"(Google) Apps Script services impose daily quotas and hard limitations on some features. If you exceed a quota or limitation, your script throws an exception and execution terminates.

Quotas are set at different levels for users of consumer accounts (such as gmail.com) and G Suite free edition (discontinued), or different G Suite editions.

Daily quotas are refreshed at the end of a 24-hour window; the exact time of this refresh, however, varies between users."

Cryptosheets uses next generation template protocol from Microsoft that allows Excel users to instantly load entire complex models, dashboards, charts and templates with one click from the side panel --- without having to download any files, workbooks or scripts!

You can access Googlesheets versions of these templates which will be continuously rolled out in the near term

​Beginning in February 2020, Googlesheets users will be able to access a limited number of Cryptosheets templates directly through customary shared Googlehseet links. They can then save their own copies and adjust them however they like.
