Changes to Unity subscription plans and pricing

Learn about updates to Unity subscription plans and the cancellation of the Runtime Fee.

Unity is canceling the Runtime Fee, effective immediately

After extensive consultation with our games community and customers, we’ve decided to cancel the Runtime Fee.

This means there will be no Runtime Fee associated with games created with any version of Unity, including Unity 6 when it releases later this year. Unity 6 is the most stable and performant version of Unity to date, and we want everyone to be able to access it without hesitation.

Changes to subscription plans in 2025

We will continue with our seat-based subscription model. We’ll be introducing changes to our subscription plans in 2025, and, for the first time in two years, we’ll be updating subscription pricing, which we will revisit annually. These pricing updates will take effect on January 1, 2025 and apply to new and current Unity Pro and Unity Enterprise subscriptions upon purchase, renewal, or upgrade. Unity Personal will remain free.

Announced September 12, 2024
