Do I need a CMC Invest account to transfer?

Yes. You can open an account online or in the app.

Will I be charged to transfer my portfolio?

We charge a small fee of $20 per international stock transferred to us. Your outgoing broker may also charge you a transfer-out fee.

How long will the transfer process take?

This will vary depending on how quickly your current broker actions your transfer request. Transfers can take anywhere from 2 trading days to 6 weeks.

I've just bought shares. Can I still transfer my portfolio?

You'll need to wait until any recent trades have settled in your account before submitting your transfer request. It usually takes 2 trading days.

How do I know if I have CHESS-Sponsored or Issuer-Sponsored shares?

CHESS-sponsored shares: the HIN starts with an 'X' followed by 10 digits.
Issuer-sponsored shares: the SRN starts with an 'I' followed by 10 digits.

Do I need to fund my account before transferring my portfolio?

There's no need to top-up your CMC Invest account before you submit your transfer request.

What do I need to make the transfer?

You'll need details of the stocks and shares you'd like to transfer to us, along with your account details with your current broker. We will require a 'wet' signature on your transfer form. Then you just take a photo of your completed form and ID documents and email them back to us.
