How much is a yard of topsoil?

How many cubic yards of topsoil do I need?
Most topsoil calculators, including ours, accept measurements in metres, yards or feet. Measure your borders or allotment accordingly to find two planes- if it’s a difficult shape break up the dimensions into smaller shapes to find the total area you’re seeking to cover.
How much does a cubic meter of soil weigh?
The weight of soil can vary enormously based on the volume of water it contains. One cubic metre of moderately damp soil (as freshly dug) soil weighs 1.3- 1.7 tonnes when dug, depending on how tightly packed it is.It should be noted that blended topsoil may be less dense and therefore closer to 900 litres or even 1 cubic metre to the tonne.
How many cubic feet are in a ton of soil?
1 tonne of packed topsoil measures roughly 24.7 cubic feet- that’s just under 3 feet along each plane- much heavier than it looks!
