We have already looked at many other demographics of streamers in our2023 Streaming Results series, and now we turn to the North American segment of the industry. The top content creators from North America generally seem to stream on Twitch, but this ranking includes all live streaming platforms we track. Throughout 2023, Streams Charts collected data for over 10K+ channels from North America in live streaming, and here we look through the most successful creators of the year.

The North American live streaming segment is dominated by some wildly popular variety content creators, but also passionate niche streamers who mainly cover only one game or category. In this ranking, we will walk through an overview of the top creators from all corners of live streaming, as well as the most watched organisation channels of the region.
This first ranking deals with streamers from the North American region, excluding organization channels. If a streamer broadcasts on multiple platforms, such as xQc who broadcasted on both Kick and Twitch during the year, the watch time from all channels is collected together. In the case of zackrawrr, also known as Asmongold, who broadcasted on two separate channels on the same platform during the year, the statistics for both channels were included.

At the top of our ranking with124.68M Hours WatchedwasxQcfrom Canada. The streamer from up North is one of the most recognisable faces in live streaming, and he remains the most dominant content creator in this English-speaking segment of the platform. xQc broadcast a wide variety of content on Twitch, but Minecraft was his single most popular game category for the year. Without the boost in viewership from his Kick broadcast, xQc would have fallen behindKai Cenat.
Kai is one of the fastest-growing streamers in the entire industry, and his 2023 was hugely successful. Although he was not able to claim the top spot on this ranking, his133.33M Hours Watchedmade him the most-watched Twitch streamer of the year from North America, and he recorded 68% more watch timethroughout 2023 compared to the previous year. Many streamers on this ranking, such as xQc, actually experienced a drop in watch time in 2023, and KaiCenat was one of the few rare streamers to not only improve his viewership but by a sizeable margin.
Third on this ranking was the content king of Valorant,tarik. Tarik generated71.84M Hours Watchedthroughout the year, with his most popular content of the year being his coverage of the Valorant Champions final event of the 2023 competitive season. Tarik has established himself as not only the most popular English-speakingValorantstreamer but the go-to spot for coverage of competitive Valorant events for a sizable portion of the English-speaking audience, often being the most watched channel of the Valorant events throughout the year. During theGrand Final of the Valorant Champions event, tarik reached215.6K Peak Viewers, a personal best for his channel to date.
Behind tarik was Adin Ross of Kick. Adin moved to Kick in early 2023 and quickly became the face of the growing live streaming platform. He generated 69.11M Hours Watched during the year, with the vast majority of this coming from his Kick channel. Adin was by far the most watched North American Kick streamer of the year, and he was the only content creator of this top 10 to receive the majority of his watch time from Kick.
HasanAbi is a Turkish-American political commentator and streamer who garnered62.62M Hours Watched during the year. Hasan has been diversifying his content and featuring more variety content to reach a larger audience, but his most popular content of the year remained his political and news-break coverage. Although he ranks as the 5th most watched creator from North America, he received23% fewer Hours Watched in 2023 compared to the previous year, very similar to summit1g.
Summit1g is the second streamer of this ranking to focus heavily on shooter games, and he garnered52.85M HWin the year. Like Hasan, despite a strong finish in these rankings, he generated22% fewer HWin the year compared to the last period, and he was the only shooters-based content creator in this ranking to feature such a large drop in watch time.
ShroudandJynxzi, the two other shooters streamers of this ranking, achieved38.64Mand39.34M Hours Watched, respectively. Shroud is wildly popular the the second-most-followed creator of this ranking with10.72M Followers, secondary to only xQc. Shroud focuses on variety shooter content nowadays, and his viewership remained roughly stable compared to 2022.
The same cannot be said for Jynxzi, who received his HW thanks to niche content and a loyal community. Jynxzi nearly exclusively broadcasted Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and the game’s community stayed true throughout the year, boosting him to the top 10 of this ranking. Earlier in 2023, Jynxzi was the most-subscribed creator on Twitch, highlighting the power and passion of his community.
Asmongold, orzackrawrr, was the 8th most watched creator from North America, and the only streamer here to broadcast on two separate channels on the same platform during 2023. Zackrawrr generated much more watch time than the Asmongold channel this year, but he also streamed far more from the former, originally a secondary channel. His most watched content of the year was his coverage ofBlizzCon, for which he received over884K HWin less than 8 hours live.

Last but not least, was the president of Mexico himself. Andrés Manuel López Obrador is not an organization channel, but the channel broadcasts similarly to one. The YouTube Live account is utilised by the president to communicate official information to a younger generation and audience, and he received 49.63M Hours Watched in 2023, making him also the most watched streamer from Latin America for the year.
Most Watched Streamers by Country in North America
For a closer look at one of the North American regions, here are the most watched streamers from Canada for 2023. xQc and shroud are two familiar faces we have already looked at in this ranking, but the rest of the creators here are fresh.PRO userscan filter our database by country, allowing users to discover the top streamers of their own country, or any other.
The remaining 8 creators of this ranking were a mixture of variety streamers and creators who have built a fanbase in one niche category. Agent00 featured a mixture of Just Chatting and Grand Theft Auto V, pokelawlsstreamed Just Chatting and Dark and Darker mainly, and 39dapha wide variety of content with a more even distribution of Airtime. All three of these creators received significant watch time and enjoyed success as an internet personality larger than any one category.
Dantes garnered over 13.38M Hours Watched in the year, with over 2577 hours of League of Legends broadcast to the purple platform. Dantes was the most prolific streamer of this ranking, broadcasting for over a quarter of the total hours in the year. Kyedae was the most watched female Canadian streamer of the year with 13.01M HWrecorded, and the vast majority of this came from her Valorant content. Kyedae has become a personality within the Valorant community, and she stayed loyal to the fanbase by playing Valorant for over 95% of the time she was live during the year.
HJune, Typical Gamer, and nl_Kripp all represented different game categories on Twitch, being the top creators of their respective games. hJune received 11.33M HW for their Rustgameplay and Typical Gamer was the sole YouTube Gaming streamer of this ranking, and the only Canadian YouTube Gaming streamer to garner more than 10M Hours Watched in the year. He owed his success to his highly popular Fortnitebroadcasts on the platform.
Finally, nl_Kripp generated8.95M Hours Watchedin the year, thanks to his Hearthstone history. The Canadian broadcaster has previously competed inHearthstonefor Team SoloMid, and built up a sizable audience for himself within the community.
In terms of the most watched USA streamers, many of the creators listed here we already looked at in the overall ranking section.K3soju, a TeamFight Tactics esports player, ranked 8th among USA streamers for the year, having achieved36.71M Hours Watched. As expected for an esports player turned streamer, his esports discipline of choice dominated his Twitch channel, with fewer than 10 hours broadcasted covering other games during the entire year.
LIRIKwas another representative of the variety streamers of the year. The American streamer broadcasted for over 2000 hours of Airtime during 2023 and covered more than 500 categories on Twitch during this time period. LIRIK has fully embraced the variety streamer style, and it worked wonders for him: as he earned36.01M Hours Watchedduring the year.
Finally of the USA streamers, The Pat McAfee Show on YouTube Live was the 10th most watched USA channel of the year, with over 31.7M Hours Watched accumulated. Pat McAfee is an American sports analyst focusing on American football. He was previously a professional player, and his move to live streaming has been largely successful; the analyst earned 53% more Hours Watched in 2023 than the previous year and was the only traditional sports-related broadcaster of these rankings.
In terms of Mexican creators, the president of the country once again topped the list, but various Mexican streamers experienced serious growth during 2023. Rivers_gg was one of the fastest-growing creators on Twitch in general, and in 2023 she garnered 78% more watch time than the previous period, ending the year with 22.45M Hours Watched.
Other creators likeRoier,vickypalami, andalgo_geohad equally strong dynamics for the year, and these streamers are likely to continue to move up the rankings in the next year. Most Watched Organization Broadcasters from North America of 2023
In terms of the most watched organization channels from North America for the year, this ranking was dominated by kids-friendly content hosted on YouTube Live. Keen-eyed viewers might notice these channels have more Airtime recorded for the year than there are hours in the year; YouTube Live allows channels to host multiple live broadcasts at one time, meaning channels can amass multiple hours of Airtime through various simultaneous broadcasts.
Maya and Marywas the most watched of these channels, having recorded 235.28M Hours Watchedduring the year.Smile Family Spanishfollowed behind in second and is the first Spanish-language channel to appear throughout all these rankings so far, excluding the Mexican president.
Rain Sound Naturalwas a highly watched broadcaster, having achieved89.13M Hours Watchedduring the year. The soothing channel was a popular hit for many throughout the year who needed some white noise to get to sleep, or just some soothing audio to relax to. The channel recorded338% more watch time in 2023compared to the previous period and was by this metric the fastest-growing channel in this ranking. The rain channel has only 291K subscribers, making it by far the least subscribed channel on this ranking, finishing ahead of channels with tens of millions of subscribers.
NBC Newsstood out from the crowd as the sole news organization to make the top 10 rankings here, with the American news station garnering55.35M HWduring the year.Disney Juniorwas another stand-out here among the kid-orientated content as one of the only channels of a large company like Disney to rank so highly. Many of the other broadcasters here are wildly popular on YouTube, but not parts of a major organization outside the platform.
The North American live streaming landscape is continuing to change. Many top streamers retained their spots as one of the most popular content creators from North America but did lose viewership during the year. The North American section of the industry is changing, and if the traditionally larger streamers cannot turn around and gain watch time in 2024, they may end up losing their spot to up-and-coming streamers.
The typical top creator from North America does not fit any one category of streamer. Some streamers broadcast a variety of content and rely on their popularity as an internet celebrity to draw viewership no matter their content, whereas other streamers stay focused within their communities on building up a loyal fanbase for themselves within their respective circles.
