Is the world count legit? ›

All the data used on TheWorldCounts is sourced from a large number of organisations, research institutions, news services etc. Our aim is to mainly use data from the world's most reputable organisations.

TheWorldCounts is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The site is being run and continuously updated by Esben Larsen and Karsten Bjerring Olsen. We work on bringing you the latest and most accurate live statistics on the state of the planet.

State of the Planet (SP) is dedicated to the publication of scientific synthesis reports and assessments on all subjects of the Earth and environmental sciences.

Jeremy Harper (born June 18, 1976) is an American entrant in the Guinness Book of World Records for counting aloud to 1,000,000, live-streaming the entire process.
