The Uchiha Clan's Most Powerful Members, Ranked (2024)

The Uchiha Clan is among the strongest clans in Naruto. It is among the Hidden Leaf's noble clans. The Uchiha clan has a rich history and many of the strongest shinobi in the series hailed from this clan. However, there is a very dark phase in their history: Uchiha Clan massacre.

The Uchiha Clan was almost wiped out by Itachi Uchiha in order to stop a coup against the Hidden Leaf. Itachi killed everyone in his village except for his little brother, Sasuke. Currently, the clan has three members. However, in its glory days, the Uchiha Clan was home to some extremely powerful characters, some of them among the most powerful in Naruto history.

15 Mikoto Uchiha Was the Mother of Sasuke and Itachi

Debut Episode: "Roar, Chidori! Brother vs. Brother!"

Little is known about Mikoto Uchiha's abilities. She married the Head of the Uchiha Clan, Fugaku, and is the mother of Sasuke and Itachi. Given that she married into the family, it's unlikely that she had the Sharingan, although that's never made explicit within the series. Lacking that powerful dojutsu clearly marks Mikoto as the weakest among the known Uchihas.

Mikoto did hold the rank of jonin before settling down with Fugaku, and she helped train Sasuke with shurikens. Considering these two factors, she was at least moderately well-trained as a kunoichi. Like the rest of her clan, she was killed by Itachi when he was ordered to execute the Uchiha Clan. Overall, Mikoto's role in the family was not to be one of the best fighters, but to be the warm, nurturing mother figure whom her sons needed.

14 Setsuna Uchiha Plotted Against the Second Hokage

Debut Episode: "Fate"

Setsuna was in the Konoha Military Police Force and served during the reign of the Second Hokage. His Sharingan was awakened, so it is likely that he was more powerful than an average shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village or its rival nations.

Setsuna had plans to overthrow Tobirama Senju and help the Uchiha Clan to claim power in Konoha, but this never came to fruition in his lifetime. However, the fact that he believed such a goal was achievable demonstrates that he must have possessed at least some power.

13 Tekka Uchiha Was Aware of Itachi's Actions

Debut Episode: "Brothers: Distance Among the Uchiha"

Tekka Uchiha and several other members of his clan served as part of the Konoha Military Police. During their time with the group, he and two other Uchihas questioned Itachi about Shisui Uchiha's apparent suicide. They suspected Itachi was up to something and were all killed the night Itachi wiped out the clan. All three had also awakened their Sharingan.

Tekka stands out from the trio because in Itachi Shinden: Book of Dark Night, Tekka is the one who sensed Itachi's attack on the clan. Tekka himself almost caught Itachi in his genjutsu before being killed by the skilled fighter.

12 Sarada Uchiha is a Prodigy, Like Her Father

Debut Episode: "Boruto Uzumaki!!"

Sarada Uchiha is the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, and she features prominently in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Like her father, Sarada is very talented, and she is stronger than most genin of her age. Sarada awakened her Sharingan at an early age and has great chakra control that allows her to use Chakra Enhanced Strength.

This ability requires a very high level of chakra control. Sarada dreams of becoming the Hokage like Sasuke's rival, Naruto Uzumaki, and she seems to be on the right path to achieving her goals.

11 Kagami Uchiha Once Served Tobirama Senju

Debut Episode: "Danzo Shimura"

Kagami Uchiha was a jonin who also served directly under the Second Hokage during the First Great Shinobi War. He was known to be a fairly skilled ninja, and he was personal friends with Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura — both of whom considered him to be extremely trustworthy.

Kagami was apparently quite skilled at the use of the Sharingan and a decent strategist. Shisui Uchiha openly considered Kagami's abilities to be superior to his own. The specifics of his fate are vague beyond the fact that he did die and Shisui Uchiha is one of his descendants.

10 Sakura Uchiha Married into the Family

Debut Episode: "Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!"

Sakura has matured from a very annoying person to a strong and reliable kunoichi. Sakura is a member of the old Team 7, and she married Sasuke Uchiha. Sakura has mastered the use of Strength of a Hundred Seal. The Strength of a Hundred Seal granted Sakura a lot of chakra and increased the power of her attacks. She also perfected the use of Katsuyu as seen during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Sakura was able to summon Katsuyu and use her abilities to the fullest. Sakura is also an excellent medical ninja, and her skills were massively improved when she trained with Tsunade. That glow-up helped make Sakura Haruno/Uchiha a more prominent member of the Konoha 11 and made her more worthy of marrying into the mighty Uchiha clan.

9 Fugaku Uchiha Expected a Lot From His Sons

Debut Episode: "Roar, Chidori! Brother vs. Brother!"

Fugaku Uchiha was the leader of the Uchiha Clan before the clan's massacre. He is the father of Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha. Fugaku was a very strong shinobi and many people considered him to be a strong candidate for the position of the Hokage.

However, Minato was chosen ahead of Fugaku, and as a result, he and the rest of the Uchiha Clan planned a coup d'état. Before his death at the hands of Itachi, Fugaku expressed that he kept his Mangekyou Sharingan a secret, as it potentially possessed the ability to control the Nine-Tailed Fox itself.

8 Izuna Uchiha Was Roughly Equal to His Legendary Brother

Debut Episode: "The Light and Dark of the Mangekyo Sharingan"

Izuna Uchiha was Madara Uchiha's younger brother. According to the databook, Izuna was equal to Madara when the latter still had the Mangekyou Sharingan. Izuna also possessed the Mangekyou Sharingan, although it is unknown what his Mangekyou was capable of doing.

Izuna was a very strong fighter and he clashed with the members of the Senju Clan several times. Izuna was killed by Tobirama Senju, and before dying, he asked Madara to take his eyes. This resulted in the awakening of the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.

7 Shisui Uchiha Met His Fate Before the Naruto Series Began

Debut Episode: "Painful Decision"

Shisui Uchiha was a close friend of Itachi's. He was one of the few Uchiha who genuinely cared about the prosperity of the Hidden Leaf. Shisui Uchiha was renowned as "Shisui of the Body Flicker" for his skill in the Body Flicker Technique. Danzo considered Shisui — who had awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan — to be the strongest Uchiha of his time.

Shisui possessed the ability to use Kotoamatsukami. Kotoamatsukami is considered to be the strongest genjutsu after Infinite Tsukuyomi. This ability allowed Shisui to enter the mind of the victim and manipulate it, without the victim actually realizing it.

6 Shin Uchiha Became an Uchiha Through the Power of Science

Debut Episode: "The Boy With the Sharingan"

Shin Uchiha isn't an Uchiha by birth or marriage, but instead by choice. He was one of Orochimaru's experiments that ultimately went rogue. Shin was given several Sharingan Eyes (much like Danzo) and even managed to awaken his Mangekyou. He had plans to resurrect the Akatsuki and was confronted by Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha in Boruto.

Shin put up one heck of a fight, even against two of the greatest shinobi to have ever lived. He had the uncanny ability to manipulate and weaponize metal from afar. He ultimately perished when his own clones turned on him and killed him.

5 Itachi Uchiha Betrayed His Clan to Protect His Village

Debut Episode: "The Third Hokage, Forever..."

Itachi Uchiha is without a doubt the most naturally talented Uchiha in all of Naruto. He was born a prodigy, and he excelled in everything that he set out to accomplish. It is said that Itachi even possessed the wits of a Kage before he became a teenager.

Itachi Uchiha possessed the Mangekyou Sharingan that gave him the ability to use Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Both of these abilities made it very difficult to fight Itachi head-on. Itachi could also use a Susano'o, which wielded the Blade of Totsuka and the Yata Mirror. According to Zetsu, these abilities made Itachi virtually "invincible." So, Itachi ranks highly among the strongest Uchiha of all, with only a few true powerhouses ranking even higher.

4 Indra Otsutsuki Was a Historic Shinobi in Many Ways

Debut Episode: "Sasuke's Ninja Way"

Indra Otsutsuki is the founder of the Uchiha Clan. He was the elder son of Hagoromo Otsutsuki. When Hagoromo made Asura his successor instead of Indra, the latter lost his composure. Indra was being manipulated by Black Zetsu, which played a major role in driving him to the edge. Indra clashed against Asura, but he was defeated.

Indra possessed a very keen intellect and was a prodigy when it came to ninjutsu. Indra possessed his father's prowess, but since Indra was unable to freely manipulate chakra, he founded the tradition of using Hand Signs, paving the way for generations of shinobi after him. He was also able to use the Sharingan extremely well, being the first person to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan.

3 Obito Uchiha Almost Died, Then Went Rogue

Debut Episode: "Return of the Kazekage"

Obito Uchiha was a major antagonist throughout the entire Naruto series. He was effectively used as a puppet by Black Zetsu and Madara. Obito started the Fourth Great Ninja War with help from Kabuto Yakushi to fulfill Madara's wishes before eventually using the Rinnegan to become the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki.

Obito gained access to Six Paths Senjutsu and the truth-seeking balls. However, he wasn't able to utilize the full power of the Rinnegan, ultimately leading to his defeat. After Kaguya emerged, Obito realized his wrongs helped Team 7 to defeat her.

2 Madara Uchiha Played a Central Role in the Fourth Great Shinobi War

Debut Episode: "The Man Who Became God"

Madara Uchiha was the leader of the Uchiha Clan during the Warring States Period. He was the rival of Hashirama Senju and fought him until the bitter end. Madara was never able to beat Hashirama when both of them were alive, but for the majority of their lives, the two were evenly matched.

• Powers: Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, Perfect Susano'o, Rinnegan, Ten-Tails Jinchuriki

Madara eventually managed to steal Hashirama's cells and awakened the Rinnegan; before dying, he implanted this Rinnegan into Nagato. He was then reanimated during the Fourth Great Ninja War, took back his Rinnegan, and managed to become the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails. He had a very high regeneration rate, as he even survived being split into two.

1 Sasuke Uchiha Gained Immense Power in a Short Time

Debut Episode: "Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!"

As the sole survivor of the Uchiha Clan massacre, Sasuke Uchiha is the most powerful Uchiha Clan member. Sasuke grew up with hatred for his elder brother, who he thought killed his family for no reason.

Sasuke is currently the only shinobi who can match Naruto in a fight. He has gained a lot of power over the years. Sasuke has both the Rinnegan and the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. The Rinnegan gives him access to all the Six Paths Techniques as well as to Space-Time Ninjutsu, and he is also able to manifest a full-body Susano'o. With so many powers at his disposal, it's no wonder Sasuke ranks first among the most powerful Uchihas in the anime.
