We encourage the children to express their views and create meaning in their world. We use interaction, dialogue, play and exploration to help the children in our care develop critical thinking, ethical judgement and an ability to take action in order to effect change.

Every child is welcomed as a unique individual, and we want to respect their experiential world. Children’s lives are shaped by their environment, but they also exert influence over their own lives. We want to make space for the children’s differing abilities, perspectives and experiences and help to ensure that the children, together with others, develop a positive relationship with themselves and confidence in their own abilities.

Our pupils are met with empathy and in that way allowed to develop their own empathy and capacity for forgiveness.

Social competence is key to interacting well with others, and it is developed through social interaction. We work to make all the children feel that they are important members of our group and that they engage in positive interaction with children and adults. Actively encouraging the children to develop friendships and social relationships is key in everything we do. We also want to grow the children’s self-esteem and we help them manage the balance between looking after their own needs and being considerate of the needs of others.

The value of play-based learning is key for everything we do. We want to inspire and make space for a variety of play both outdoors and indoors.

It is important that all the children in our care experience happiness, laughter, excitement and involvement through play – alone and with others.

The children are given the opportunity to explore, broaden their perspectives and gain new insights. We encourage them to use their entire body and all their senses in their learning processes and make ways so they can contribute to their own and their friends learning.

We have an annual educational plan which introduces new situations, topics, phenomena, materials and tools that promote meaningful interaction. With our outstanding location and outdoor space, we provide the children a stimulating environment that supports their desire to play, explore, learn and achieve.
