Texas Instructor Taught Drivers Ed
What if your parents aren't licensed to drive? Or it’s not the best teacher/student combination? If that’s the case you’ll want to sign up for a Texas Instructor Taught Drivers Ed course.
This course is also for young drivers between the ages of 14 and 17 years old. It’s a total of 32 hours of “classroom” instruction, but you can take the learners permit exam within the Aceable app after finishing the first six hours.
Once you have a Texas learners permit in hand you can choose your behind-the-wheel provider and start the driving portion of drivers ed. While you’re doing that you’ll need to complete the rest of the Aceable course to get a certificate of completion.
With a certificate in hand, you can apply for a drivers license as long as you’ve had your learners permit for at least six months.
Texas Adult Drivers Ed
Did you get through high school without getting a drivers license? Adults who are 18 to 25 years old must take an adult drivers ed course to get a license. If you’re over 25 years old you don’t have to take drivers ed to get a license. But is it a good idea? Yes!
Our Texas Adult Drivers Ed course is designed to help older newbs with busy lives meet the education requirements for a license and learn how to drive safely. The Texas Adult Drivers Ed course is just six hours long. It’s fully state-approved and can be completed entirely online using our app.
Whenever you complete the course and get the completion certificate you can get down to the local DPS office to apply for a drivers license and take the road test.

Renewing, Replacing, and Reinstating Your Texas Drivers License
You got to keep track of that drivers license you worked so hard for and follow the rules of the road or you could lose it for a while. Losing, misplacing, or having your license stolen can happen to anyone. Luckily, replacing a Texas drivers license isn’t too difficult.
Every Texas driver must renew their drivers license at some point. If you’re between 18 and 84 years old your license needs to be renewed every eight years. It may be possible to renew online so check your eligibility before heading to the local DPS office.
If you got in trouble behind the wheel your license can be suspended or revoked. After a certain amount of time reinstatement may be possible. However, there may be restrictions for when you can drive when you get your license back.
