What to do in Star Citizen new player? ›

You can mine ore, haul cargo, salvage space wrecks, hunt bounties, become a mercenary, or even take up a life of crime. Fly and drive a vast variety of vehicles and play how you want to play - the possibilities are endless.

Once you have friends added to your contact list, right-click your frind name in the contact list and select 'Join Friends'. However you can only join on friends if their server is not full.

New Babbage - microTech

New Babbage is located on the edge of the System. With great shopping facilities, most of the player's basic needs are met in the common area located within the city. With a range of stores, players will find weapons, armor, modules, and mining equipment for their ship.

A Free Fly is a special event that occurs now and then that will allow anyone who wishes to login and try out the game without making a monetary pledge of support for the Star Citizen project.

In essence, you will be able to designate other players as "persons of interest," and if you enter the same zone one of these players is in, the galaxy server will place you in the same instance if there is room available.

Private Servers are a planned feature which will allow players to run their own private Star Citizen servers, including modding them and playing offline.

There are two main types of countermeasures useful against missiles and radars in Star Citizen: Chaff and Flare. These countermeasures provide additional sources of noise in the environment- mainly heat or electronic- that help disrupt and conceal a ship's heat (infrared), visual, and electromagnetic signatures.

You can land manually (using decoupled mode helps a ton if you're doing this) or you can use the autopilot to land. Press M to toggle between these two modes. Autopilot should kick in once you get over the pad. After landing, to take off again, press the middle mouse button to request permission, then strafe up.

An icon will appear in your HUD designating the location of your pad, bay, or hangar. As you proceed towards your designated landing area, you will see which type it is (pads and hangars are typically landed on or in vertically, where as bays are flown into). Remember: Lower your landing gear!
