The Source WXP is almost perfect when it comes to battlefield hydration. The stiff polyethylene bladder may not be as strong on paper as the flexible polyurethane found in it's competitors, but we've yet to see or hear of a material failure in the field.
How to clean source hydration? ›Refill your bladder with fresh water and a small amount of dishwashing soap. Give the inside a good scrub with a suitable brush, focusing on any areas of residue or mold buildup. Remove the bite valve and clean separately. Insert a long, thin brush through the drinking tube.

Wash and Dry Before the First Use
Use warm water with mild soap or lemon juice to rinse out any residue before using your hydration bladder for the first time. Our hydration bladders have removable bite valves for easy cleaning. Make sure to let the hydration bladder dry completely before drinking from it.
Stick to water
If possible only use water in your hydration bladder. Adding squash, sports drink powder or even electrolyte tablets makes a far more attractive environment for bugs and other nasties and makes it much harder to keep the bladder clean. Use gels and other food to top up your energy and electrolyte levels.
You can carry more water in a more efficient and comfortable way using bladders compared to using bottles. If you have a lot of distance to cover, it is very hot, or if you sweat a lot and therefore need to carry large quantities of water, we would highly recommend using bladders.
Can you use vinegar to clean a water bladder? ›Yes, you can clean your water bladder with vinegar. Measure 1 part white vinegar to about 6-10 parts hot water. Pour that mixture into your hydration bladder and close the lid tightly. Swish the mixture for about 5 minutes and then drain the mixture out through the tube.
