Hi
Thank you to everyone who took part in Dave's Walk On challenge. A special thank you to Dave for allowing me to take a turn to host this week and share my image! 😊
This is a photo I took of the Liberty Bell while visiting Philadelphia. It was made in 1751 and now resides across the street from Independence Hall in the Liberty Bell Center. It's the symbol of liberty and has been used by abolitionists, women's suffrage advocates, and Civil Rights leaders. The inscription says, "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof".
What story can you tell us with this?
The “rules”:
- Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
- Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
- Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
- There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
- The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!

Michael that is properly spooky. Elon Musk is going to find that on his way to Mars, and we'll all be freaked out... Until they discover it's the same people who littered remote parts of several South Western states with various monoliths. But wait. How did they get out there to continue their jolly prank?

Oh no! Our Liberty Bell has become Space Debris — let's hope it doesn't damage satellites or hurt someone when it falls to Earth. 😊 Great idea@Michael Ambroise!

Hooray! I'm sure you'll do a better job than the City of Philadelphia did when they attempted repairs in 1846.
From the National Park Service (NPS):
"In 1846, when the city decided to repair the bell prior to George Washington's birthday holiday (February 23), metal workers widened the thin crack to prevent its farther spread and restore the tone of the bell using a technique called "stop drilling". The wide "crack" in the Liberty Bell is actually the repair job! Look carefully and you'll see over 40 drill bit marks in that wide "crack". But, the repair was not successful. The Public Ledger newspaper reported that the repair failed when another fissure developed. This second crack, running from the abbreviation for "Philadelphia" up through the word "Liberty", silenced the bell forever."

I had to cut out a section of the bell to tell the story, so you'll have to imagine it is there, but suddenly completely transparent. This one is based on a true story

But I can tell you, anyhow, I’d rather see than be one!

Welcome to Something for the Weekend, Olivier. The Liberty Bell works well as a cow bell — very clever!

That's lots of fun@Lavonne Hallbut I see you have also done a nice job with the original background. You've fixed the colour of the specular highlights on the bell as well. You really should be getting bonus points for this one. 🙂
