The VIZIO Smart HDTV allows you to connect to the internet and display content or stream videos and television shows in HD quality. It can either be wired or wirelessly connected to your router.

Wired connection
Make sure that the ethernet cable is properly connected to the router and to your VIZIO Smart HDTV. You can also try connecting another wired device and see if it works fine or use another ethernet cable instead.
NOTE: The green and orange lights on your VIZIO Smart HDTV will power ON once you plug an ethernet cable with an active internet connection from the router.
Ensure that the VIZIO Smart HDTV’s internet connection is set up correctly and is configured to use the ethernet cable. Follow the steps below for instructions:
Step 1:
Press the VIA button on the remote to display the on-screen menu.
Step 2:
Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the Network icon and press OK to display the Network Connection screen.
Step 3:
Make sure that the Wired Connection is displaying Connected.
Test the internet connection on your VIZIO Smart HDTV to make sure it is working properly. Here’s how:

Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the Network icon and press OK to display the Network Connection screen.
Select Test Connection.
Make sure that your wireless source, which is usually a router or an access point, is working properly and is giving an active internet connection. You may check another wireless device connected to your network to verify.
Make sure your VIZIO Smart HDTV is within 30 ft. of your router.
Check for any wireless devices that may interfere with the HDTV’s wireless signal. This could bemicrowaves, cordless phones, aquariums, or thick walls.
Clear the cache memory of the VIZIO Smart HDTV. To do this, go to the menu, select Help > Clear Memory.
Verify that the internet connection type is set up correctly on your VIZIO Smart HDTV. Also, make sure that no ethernet cable is connected to the HDTV.
NOTE: If there is no ethernet cable connected to your HDTV, the wireless menu will be displayed and you will see a list of available Wi-Fi networks. The Wired Connection will also be set to Disconnected.
Test the internet connection on your VIZIO Smart HDTV to make sure it is working properly. Below is the step by step instructions:

Press the VIA button on the remote to display the on-screen menu.
Step 2:
Use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the Network icon and press OK to display the Network Connection screen.
Step 3:
Select Test Connection.
Make sure that you are connecting to the correct Wi-Fi and typing the right password or security key. The security key should not have any special characters. Also, the security type of your Wi-Fi should be WPA™. To learn how to check the wireless settings of your router, click here.
NOTE: The wireless password or security key is case-sensitive.
Verify if the MAC Address Filtering feature of your router is enabled. If it is, then ensure that your HDTV’s MAC address has been added to the list. Click here for instructions.
Restart the VIZIO Smart HDTV by unplugging it for 30 seconds before plugging it back in.
