There are many ways to list age group ranges for surveys. Some researchers organize data into five or ten-year periods. Others group data by generation, such as Baby Boomers, Millennials, Gen X, and Gen Z. The range you use is up to you and what will work best with your survey goals.

It is common in demography to split the population into three broad age groups: children and young adolescents (under 15 years old) the working-age population (15–64 years) and. the elderly population (65 years and older)
