Solved Example 3: What is the prime factorization of 17?
Solution:We define Prime Factors of 17 as all the prime numbers that when multiplied together equal 17. A prime number is an integer greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself. 17 can only be divided by 1 and 17 which means that 17 is a prime number. Since 1 is neither a prime number nor a prime factor, 17 is the only Prime Factor of 17.
