Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to get a free Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi [last chance] (2024)
Pokemon Sword and Shield players will soon be able to get two mythical Pokemon for free. To celebrate the upcoming Netflix release of Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, the Pokemon Company is giving out a free Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi for Sword and Shield in October. However, your time to sign up for the free Pokemon is quickly running out.
The mythical Pokemon will be distributed via a download code, which will be included in October's Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter. To receive the code, you must create a free Pokemon Trainer Club account on the official Pokemon website and opt in to email marketing by Saturday, Sept. 25.
The newsletter containing the download code will be sent out on Oct. 7. Both Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi play a prominent role in Secrets of the Jungle and aren't normally available in Sword and Shield, so you won't want to miss your chance to get them. You can see more details about each Pokemon below.
Moves: Jungle Healing, Hammer Arm, Power Whip and Energy Ball
Shiny Celebi
Level 60
Held item: Lucky Egg
Ability: Natural Cure
Moves: Magical Leaf, Future Sight, Life Dew and Heal Bell
Once the download code has been distributed, you can claim the free Pokemon by opening the Mystery Gift menu in your copy of Sword or Shield and selecting Get with aCode/Password.
Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle will be released internationally on Netflix on Oct. 8. Pokemon Go is also holding an in-game event to celebrate the movie's launch. From Oct. 1-10, Pokemon featured in the film will be appearing more frequently in the game, and players will have their first chance to catch Zarude through a new Special Research story.
Zarude was distributed as a bonus for purchasing a ticket to Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle in 2020 and 2021. The promotion ended in late 2021. Zarude was distributed via a code send to Pokemon Club Newsletter subscribers in October of 20. These codes expired in December of 2021.
As with a large percentage of Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, Zarude's Shiny form isn't a particularly exciting one. It retains the bulk of existing black and green colours, however, its dark grey stomach is replaced by a slightly more golden one. Other than that, there are no other changes.
Celebi is a Mythical Pokemon that can't be caught through any normal means in Pokemon GO. The Time Travel Pokemon can't be caught in raids or in the wild. The only way to get one is to complete special research tasks all the way through to the end, which rewards players with a Celebi encounter.
From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. The Celebi Egg glitch is a glitch that allows the user to obtain almost any Pokémon in Gold, Silver, and Crystal. It is notable for allowing players to obtain Celebi, which is an Event Pokémon and therefore is not intended to be possible in normal gameplay.
Zarude is a Dark/Grass-type Mythical Pokémon that originally arrived in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Back in 2021, Zarude saw their Pokémon GO debut. With the rarity, you can only get Zarude at the time if you participated in and completed the “Search for Zarude!” special research assignments.
Remember, however, that it is a Mythical creature and is illegal to use in competitive play. You did it, Trainers! Over a million of you have defeated Zeraora in #PokemonSwordShield! A shiny Zeraora will be arriving to all Trainers in #PokemonHOME on June 29!
