Pizza Casserole was an immediate favorite recipe, from the very first time I cooked it! That’s why I’m sharing this recipe with you today, as another installment in the Easy Family Favorites series!
This recipe for Pizza Casserole was an instant family favorite! The two year old loves it, and my husband and I do as well!
Ingredients:
- 8 oz Rigatoni or Macaroni noodles (cook & drain)
- 1 lbs Sausage
- 1 Clove Garlic, Minced
- 1 Jar Spagetti Sauce (26 oz)
- 8 oz Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (about 2 cups)
- 1/2 cup GratedParmesanCheese
- 6 oz Pepperoni slices
Brown the meat and garlic in a bit of oil, drain & put meat mixture in a large mixing bowl. Stir in Sauce, half the mozzarella and about 2 oz of pepperoni. Add the noodles to the bowl and mix until the sauce/cheese mixture evenly coats the noodles. Put mixture in greased 13×9 inch pan. Sprinkle the remaining cheeses on top. Add Pepperoni slices liberally atop the cheeses.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly.
One of the really fun things about this recipe is that you can customize it by adding your favorite pizza toppings! You could use olives, onion, mushrooms, green peppers etc. Just add your ‘extras’ in when cooking the meat and you will have your own custom pizza casserole!
This recipe also freezes well. Prepare all the way up to the point before you would put it in the oven. Then freeze it until you are ready to cook on a later date! I always use disposable pans to freeze. Definitely not glass!

My family really enjoyed this for dinner tonight. It is nice and easy, using staples I have on hand. The only minor issue with the recipe is that it doesn’t state when to add the pasta to the mix. I added mine with the sauce and cheese. Thanks so much!

It’s cold and gray in the Hudson Valley of New York today and this casserole looks oh, so good! And after pizza…ice cream perhaps? I posted today about our quest for the Ultimate Banana Split across the US. Paula, if you visit Longings End and have any suggestions of ice cream places we can visit for next year’s quest {we just presented our first ever Top Banana Award to a place in Gloucester, MA!!}, please leave a comment. THANKS MUCH. Blessings…

Hi Paula, thanks for this recipe. I made it last night and the family loved it! My husband said he’d like this more often than just plain spaghetti with meat sauce. It was gobbled up, and still enough left for another meal. The recipe doesn’t state when to add the pasta, so maybe that could be added somewhere? I just put it in the 13×9 pan and stirred the meat sauce into it.

so glad you all loved it!!! I definitely prefer this to regular spagetti too! :) Thanks for pointing out that I forgot to state when to add the noodles! I will fix that right away :)

Looks yummy. Does this need to defrost from the freeze (if so for how long?) before cooking in the oven or any special instructions?

Hello, I just finished reading this recipe. I want to ask a question, can I make this pizza with just mozzarella cheese? I mean, not use the grated parmesan Cheese one? It’s so hard to find one in my place.
