I don’t understand tick size and tick value settings.
Please provide the example for BTCUSD and ETHBTC.
If the settings are wrong how can it affect strategy generation process?

When its set incorrectly it will give you misleading numbers. What is your broker for BTCUSD and ETHBTC?

Seems they do not have any instrument specifications listed. You can contact them and ask about minimum price fluctuations and value of that

Tick size represents minimum price fluctuation of a market. For example tick size for stock market is usually 0.01 (1 cent).
The minimum order size is different. You can trade for example 1 or 10 futures contracts, 0.1 or 3.8 lots of EURUSD which represents certain amount of an asset traded. You need to understand the instrument specification properly before you trade it

Seems like I thought that pip step is pip size.
Now I don’t understand what is pip step and how pip value is calculated.
So I requested the info from the exchange and got a response:
We use 5 significant digits precision across the platform.
So if BTC price is over 10000 USD, so a tick size is 1. However, if the price goes below 10000, tick size, step and value would change accordingly.
For ETHBTC the precision is same 5 significant digits with 0.000001 min movement.

After some research I ended up with:
Am I correct?
BTCUSD: (used0.1 instead of 1 for better historical results)
size: 0.1
step: 0.01
value 0.1
ETHUSD:
size: 0.01
step: 0.001
value 0.01
ETHBTC:
size: 0.000001
step: 1e-7
value 0.01

Why doesn’t it make sense to you? What’s wrong with trading crypto with EA?

lack of data
brokers – only long side, swaps, margins, spreads
no consistency in market

It seems like I actually was correct:
Tick step is minimum market movement. (not tick size)
And Tick size = Tick step * 10

“Pip step” is used mainly with forex markets with some brokers where each pip is further divided into 10 points. So called 5-digit brokers
In futures/stock market the tick is really the minimum price change possible. The same applies to BTC futures for example traded on CME
Not sure about the crypto markets though

Did you ever get help with this?
I find it surprising there is very little discussion or help with Crypto strategies.
