Sameer Nigam founded PhonePe in 2015 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Before PhonePe, he served as the SVP Engineering and VP Marketing at Flipkart. His Flipkart journey started in 2011 when the company acquired his earlier startup - Mime360, a digital media distribution platform. Sameer has also served as the Director of Product Management at Shopzilla Inc, where he built the company's proprietary shopping search engine. In 2009, he won the coveted Wharton Venture Award, bestowed by the prestigious Wharton Business School. He holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania), USA, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Arizona, Tucson-USA.
Rahul Chari
Rahul Chari is the Chief Technology officer at PhonePe. He comes with two decades of experience spanning embedded systems, enterprise software development, e-commerce platforms and apps. Prior to PhonePe he was working as the VP Engineering at Flipkart and was responsible for building the best-in-class supply chain system for e-commerce. He joined Flipkart in 2011 through the acquisition of Mallers Inc where he served as the Chief Technology Officer and built Mime360, their flagship product. Prior to Mallers, Rahul was with the Data Center Business Unit at Cisco Systems where he was part of the team that developed the market changing MDS 9000 family of SAN switches. He is named on multiple storage virtualization related patents. Rahul holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Purdue University, USA and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Bombay (Mumbai) University, India (Gold Medalist)

john david rainey
John David Rainey is the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Walmart. He is responsible for the company’s financial operations, corporate strategy, global procurement, and investor relations. John David and his team work to deliver on Walmart’s commitment to help customers around the world save money and live better.
Prior to joining Walmart in May 2022, John David served as PayPal’s chief financial officer and executive vice president, global customer operations. In this role, he was responsible for leading PayPal’s financial operations, as well as its customer operations centers around the world.
John David previously held the position of executive vice president and CFO at United Airlines, one of the world’s largest airlines, and spent a combined 18 years between United and Continental Airlines. He began his professional career at Ernst & Young LLP.
John David serves on the board of directors of PhonePe, India’s leading digital payments and financial services platform. He also serves on the advisory board for Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business.
John David earned his MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.

Donna Morris is executive vice president and chief people officer for Walmart. A member of the executive committee, Donna is striving to make Walmart a great place to work for the more than 2 million associates around the world and contributing to the growth and success of the global business with a focus on associates.

Donna has significant leadership experience in delivering innovative people solutions, developing and managing teams that operate in an agile way, and helping to build high-performance cultures that promote diversity and inclusion. She joined Walmart in 2020 from Adobe, where she served as chief human resources officer and executive vice president of employee experience. Donna joined Adobe in 2002.
A native of Ottawa, Canada, Donna has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Carleton University. Donna holds the Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Senior HR Professional (SHRP) and Canadian Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designations and is a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR). Donna is on the Board of Trustees at Fordham University in New York, a member of the board of directors of PhonePe – a digital payment platform based in Bangalore, India – and the renowned Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
Donna’s work at Walmart has led her to being named to the inaugural Forbes Future of Work 50 list, Mass Market Retailer’s “Most Influential Women in Retailing” and a Top 100 HR Tech influencer by Human Resource Executive.
leigh hopkins
Leigh Hopkins is executive vice president, international strategy & development, and regional CEO, supporting Walmart’s Asia Region and Walmex.
Leigh began his Walmart career in 2009 based in Hong Kong as vice president of Mergers and Acquisitions. In 2011, he moved to Bentonville where he held various roles leading Walmart International’s M&A, Strategy and Real Estate functions.
Leigh began his career as a banker, dividing his time between London and Tokyo. In this capacity he worked across corporate finance, equity capital markets, as well as M&A where he focused on advising retail and consumer businesses, including Walmart.
He has a degree in Oriental Studies from Oxford University, and lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he serves on the board of TheatreSquared, a nationally-recognized professional theatre in Northwest Arkansas.
binny bansal
Binny Bansal co-founded Flipkart in 2007, playing a pivotal role in establishing it as India’s leading e-commerce marketplace. Almost a decade later (2018), as Group CEO, he steered Flipkart to close the largest global M&A deal in e-commerce when Walmart acquired a majority stake in the company at an enterprise valuation of US $22 billion.
Binny also co-founded Xto10X Technologies, a company that has helped 350+ startups across the globe scale meaningfully into world-class companies. Binny is a serial entrepreneur, prolific investor, and active mentor in the startup ecosystem. A Philanthropist at heart, he cares deeply about education and empowering livelihoods.
rohit bhagat
Rohit Bhagat serves as the Chairman of PhonePe's Board of Directors. He has significant corporate governance experience, and has served on the boards of several other public and private tech-enabled services and financial services companies. During his executive career, he served as Chairman, Asia Pacific for BlackRock and as Global Chief Operating Officer for Barclays Global Investors. Prior to that he was a Senior Partner at The Boston Consulting Group where his responsibilities included co-head of US Financial Services and Managing Partner, India. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School, Northwestern University, an MSE from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has completed the Stanford Directors Consortium program and has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization.
tarun bajaj
Mr Bajaj belongs to the Indian Administrative Service, 1988, Haryana Cadre. He was the Revenue Secretary, Government of India where he was responsible for various important policy matters related to revenue collection and taxation. He played a key role in the stabilisation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and also contributed to substantial increase in collections of revenue under GST and Income Tax. He was also the Economic Affairs Secretary, where he was responsible for key aspects related to fiscal policy, investments, and infrastructure financing.
Mr. Bajaj serves on the Board of Hindustan Unilever Limited. He also chaired the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund and has served on the Boards of the RBI, SEBI, SIDBI, Bank of Maharashtra, Bank of India, General Insurance Corporation Limited, New India Assurance Company Limited and United India Insurance Company Limited.
Mr Bajaj has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and Postgraduate (M.Sc.) from London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also a CFA from Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India, Hyderabad.
