Opalescence (2024)

Opalescence isa female petcat owned by Rarity. She is not named in the franchise, but has a named counterpart in the parent series nicknamed Opal.

Equestria Girls: Dance Magic[]

In Dance Magic Opalescence appears in Rarity's room where she is picked up and held in Fluttershy's arms as her owner discusses with her friends how students from Crystal Prep Academy stole her video concept for the Canterlot Mall Chance to Prance Music Video contest.

Equestria Girls: Summertime Shorts[]

In Pet Project, Opalescence appears participating in the Equestria Girls' charity calendar shoot for the animal shelter along with their other pets. In Leaping Off the Page, she appears in a photo from the calendar shoot in Rainbow Dash's bedroom.

Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 2)[]

In DIY with Applejack, Opalescence appears in Applejack's DIY video, hissing when she intends to paint Rarity's new dressing room brown, and sits happily when Applejack decides to paint it light purple. She subsequently appears scratching the satin material for the dressing room's wall, napping on the floor, and getting woken up by Applejack while sleeping on Rarity in the completed room's bed. In FOMO, she appears in Rarity's bedroom as her friends throw her a surprise party. In Camping Must-Haves, Rarity shows off a four panel privacy screen with Opal's image on it while hosting a video on camping must-haves with Applejack. She later appears herself on a hypoallergenic pillow that Rarity also introduces as a must-have in the video.

Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship[]

Opalescence appears in Wallflower Blush's memories sleeping with her owner before yowling and jumping off the bed when Rarity's good memories of Sunset Shimmer are removed by the memory stone.

Other depictions[]

Opalescence appears in the online game | Pinkie Pie Slumber Party Game as an item the player have to find for the Equestria Girls.

Merchandise[]

Miniature, articulated figures of Opalescence and Rarity were released in 2015 as part of the Equestria Girls Minis lineup.
