We have a Google Form that we have received a threatening message through. Is it possible to obtain information such as an IP address of who submitted the form?

One idea is to host a local URL shortener like (https://shlink.io) Then use this to build custom links for your forms. Once you send a form out you can then track through traffic logs what IP's accessed the link around the same time the form was submitted. Not exact, but if your form is relatively low traffic it could be all you need. Plus you get the added benefits of statistics about your links.

At the bottom of every form you can find a link to report abuse. I would go through that process. Additionally, if you file a criminal report with law officials or the police, they can reach out to Google to obtain evidence as well.

Google can't share the IP address with you as that would break data privacy laws in many countries.

@rwrattan@StephenHindis 100% correct. report the abuse and after that it's fire and forget. Google cannot share the disposition or anything with you for fear or breaching privacy laws protecting the bad actor 😞 -KAM
